*READ BEFORE YOU START THE STORY*: In this story Clark and Lana have been dating for 3 months and Lex knows Clarks secret.
Clark walked hurriedly down the street. He was filled confusion. She finally said it. She said, "I love you". He knew Lana didn't throw around words like 'love'. He walked into the Beanery and wiped his boots on the mat. As he eyed the place for a spot to sit he spotted Lex in the corner of the room, sitting on a sofa that in its day was probably the most stylish piece of furniture ever. Now it looked abused, and very ugly. After several "Excuse me"s and "Pardon Me"s he finally reached his friend.
"Clark, what's up with you?" asked Lex, sipping at his hazelnut nut swirl and not looking up from The Wall street Journal.
"Well, I find myself a little confused." Clark admitted.
"So you've come to me to ask for my worldly wisdom and guidance? What's the problem?" Lex asked him in an amused tone.
"Love" Clark simply stated.
"Love eh? Can't say that I've been too successful in that area but I'll try to help you out anyway."
"Lana said she loved me." Clark couldn't help but smile as he said it.
"Ah but does she love you?" Lex asked, suddenly more intrigued.
"Well, I haven't really told her about the alien part yet." Clark said the last part in a hush.
"How can she love you if she doesn't know who you are?" asked Lex. Clark didn't say anything for a minute, trying to soak in all Lex had just said.
"I guess she can't." was the conclusion Clark had finally come to.
"My advice to you Clark, is to tell her. Tell everything there is to know about yourself, and let things work themselves from there." Lex replied, almost amazed at his own wisdom.
"What if she doesn't take it well?" asked Clark, as he looked at Lex with worried eyes.
"Well then she never loved you to begin with."
Clark thanked Lex and walked quickly out of the Beanery. As Clark walked down the street he brushed past a woman who he'd never seen before. She was tall and thin with long brown hair that flowed behind her. He got a weird feeling that made him turn around even after she had passed. She too looked back at him. He shook his head and continued to walk down the side walk until we was away from the town and alone on a deserted dirt road. Clark could feel the warm summer air envelope him as he walked, the smells of grass and lavender were all around him. He realized, as he continued on his way home, that there was nothing that could compare to the wonders that constantly surrounded him.
