She was sitting right there when Harry first saw the thestrals. Her hand slipped into his open palm when the tear slipped down his cheek. She gave him the most sincere, pure smile that only she could muster, pale silvery eyes shone with encouragement. They showed Harry that she would be there for him because she knew what he saw.

"You saw someone die," she said softly. She could have read it somewhere in a book, but Harry knew that she shared a similar experience. He squeezed her hand gently, voicing his thoughts through the action. Her dirty blonde hair flew in the wind as her smile stayed in place, even after they looked separate ways.

One thing was certain on the carriage ride to Hogwarts, Harry had made a friend in Luna Lovegood.

...oo0oo…

Harry was sitting against the tree near the Black Lake, watching the stillness of the water before it was disrupted. With everything that was happening already, Harry needed to get away from everyone and everything. In the corner of his eyes, Harry saw someone's legs coming closer. He turned his head to find the blonde he was quickly bonding with.

"Luna, where are your shoes?" He asked.

Luna looked down at her bare feet before shrugging, "The wrackspurts must have gotten to my brain again. I could have sworn I put them on." Wiggling her toes in the grass, Luna slipped down beside Harry in the tree, leaning her head on his shoulder, carefully not poking him with her wand as it was perched behind her left ear.

Harry leaned his head atop of Luna's, not saying a word. It was something that they did; there was no words needed when their presence was enough comfort for the both of them.

...oo0oo…

It had gotten dark after Harry left the Slug Club Party, reaching for the necktie that he dreaded to wear. Walking down the presumed empty corridor, Harry headed for the courtyard.

"Harry."

Harry stopped and turned at the sound of his name. His eyes met with Luna standing there in her pale yellow dress, embellished with flowers that reached her curly updo. He thought she was a floral angel.

Luna strode towards him with a smile, "You left before the dancing started," she said as she looked into his eyes hopefully. "Dance with me."

"Here?" Harry questioned, fixing his glasses.

"There isn't a better place than here."

Harry cleared his throat, pink tint on his cheeks. He took Luna's hands, and he started to dance with her. Except Luna took her hands away so she could do her own spin, twirling her wrists in the air. Harry blinked at the sudden dance move, but a bemused grin grew on his face. With the other bad moves he possessed, Harry danced around Luna.

If anyone were to come across the pair, they would see some ridiculous spins and twitches; but to Harry, he was having a more pleasant time than he was at the party itself. Looking at Luna now, Harry was pleased to have met her on the carriage ride. He found something in Luna that he couldn't tap into with anyone else. Meeting Luna's eyes, Harry knew what he found was perfect.
