-----------

It had been such a long time since things stopped from happening. It didn't matter, though, minutes or years, it all seemed too close now.

Ginta came and Ginta left, and the world stopped since his departure. Alviss had lived in between. He had friends, he was fighting for what he always stood for.

Before, time had run too quickly. Eight years passed and he never saw the moment when he left his youth behind. It all was a flash of loath and despair in his memory, so unimportant at the present moment that he couldn't grasp the meaning of the feeling he had had once. The tattoo covering his flesh and marking the end of his mortality pulsed together with his heart, counting until the moment it would suffocate the heartbeats and kill him – just so he could open his eyes again for eternity. He would never again have the sensation of turning every second of his life into an effort so he could die.

And now there was no more reason to get scared at night, no reason to train or to fight. Phantom was dead, his curse gone. The chess was annihilated and MÄR-Heaven was once again what it used to be. And Alviss didn't belong there. He belonged with pride and fighting and death, and death was what he always fought for.

There's no use for a warrior in a beautiful world.
