The bell on the door to Granny's chimed as Archie Hopper walked into the diner. He looked around until he saw her. Ruby. The woman he had been seeing for three unbelievable weeks. It was honestly impossible for him to believe that this beautiful woman had decided to go out with him; she was young, and there were so many more men in Storybrooke that would be more suited for her to date. Ruby, however, wasn't one to stick with traditional ideas of how relationships should go, and asserted that she was very happy to be with him. This didn't necessarily stop all of Archie's insecurities, but nevertheless went a long way in making him feel better. He honestly just felt so lucky to be with her, that the insecurities about being good enough came with them.

Ruby looked up from the table she was currently serving food to and her face erupted in a wide grin. It was infectious as Archie grinned back. Ruby finished her service and went over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Hey sweetie!" she said before giving him a chaste kiss, minding the location. "What are you doing here?"
Archie smiled "I have an hour before my next appointment, so I thought I would surprise you."

"Well, it's a very welcome surprise," she said, eyes bright. "I can officially take my break in a couple of minutes. If you sit down I can bring us something to eat!"

Archie nodded and Ruby detached herself from him, waving as she went to take care of more customers before her break. He sat at a table when a whistle came from back of him. He turned around to see a man he didn't recognize (odd in a place like Storybrooke) getting ready to leave. "Wonder what you've been doing to bag her. Paying for her on all your dates? Or maybe even a little extra? Or maybe she can't get anyone else, that she's too much of a little slut to get anyone else."
Archie, in an act of uncharacteristic fervor stood up, hands on the table. "Don't you say that about Ruby!" he shouted, unable to believe himself. "She's a sweet, amazingly kind woman who any man would be lucky to date. She shouldn't have to deal with men like you, who take her for granted because of how she chooses to dress. Regardless of any of that, Ruby is wonderful and reminds me of that fact every single day."

The other man shrugged and left Granny's. The few other customers who had been there looked back to their meals, trying to hide that they had been listening into their therapist's personal life. Ruby walked over, balancing a plate of food and two drinks. She set them down and wrapped her arms tight around Archie's waist. "Thank you so much for what you said," she said, looking up into his eyes. "No one's ever said anything like that about me before. I'm so happy you chose to be with me."

They looked at each other for another short moment before they separated. "Come on," Ruby said, "the food will get cold." As they sat down and started their meal, both of Ruby and Archie couldn't believe their luck in the other choosing to be with them.
