AN: This is just a one-shot story I thought of while listening to Avril Lavigne's song Innocence; It's not a song-fic I was just inspired by the song

Innocence
Carlos was always an adventurous kid and he kept that with him as he got older as well. Logan saw this, being friends with Carlos for years on end, and he didn't understand how a sixteen year-old could keep his child-like innocence for so long. Logan understood many things, but just not this.
He didn't understand how Carlos could always have the energy of a three year-old. Or how the Latino could have the smile of a six year old when he was happy or extremely excited. Logan just didn't get how he had that light in his eyes, like the world was just so perfect and there was so much for him to explore in it. Logan didn't know how he always made that child-like puppy dog pout when he was sad or wanted something. Most of all, he didn't understand why he loved all those qualities about the caramel skinned boy. He didn't understand it, but he knew what the feeling was and he knew that he had to talk about it.
On a Saturday the four boys were out in the Palm Woods Park enjoying their day, playing various games and just being teenage boys. When the sun was starting to set, the boys started to walk back to the Palm Woods and then Logan pulled Carlos aside and sat him down on a bench. Kendall and James turned around to see where their shorter friends had gone and when they saw them on the bench next to each other they decided to just go home without them and leave them to talk.
Logan looked at Carlos and the sunset was shining perfectly on his face, making him look even more young and innocent than usual.
"Carlos, I have to ask you something," Logan said looking at Carlos and then looking away.
"What is it Logie?" Carlos asked a little worried.
"How do you do it?" Logan asked bluntly.
"Do what?" Carlos asked a little confused.
"How do you seem so innocent all the time? You're like a little kid, but in a good way. I just want to know, I don't understand it at all," Logan explained.
"Logan, I try my hardest to stay young and innocent for as long as I can because once it goes away, it'll never come back," Carlos told the raven haired boy next to him.
"Wow," Logan said, "I never thought of it that way."
Logan was quiet for a moment and when he finally looked at Carlos again he saw that Carlos had a look on his face that resembled sadness and Logan said, "Are you sad Carlos? 'Causes if you are don't be. What you just told me made me love you even more than I already do." Logan didn't realize what he had said until he saw Carlos' eyes widen.
"Wait, you love me?" Carlos asked curiosity the only thing visible in his eyes.
"Well…ye-yeah, I s-sort of…." Logan was cut off mid-sentence by Carlos pressing his lips to Logan's in a sweet kiss.
"I love you too Logie," Carlos said with that six year-old smile that Logan loved. Logan then put his arm around Carlos' shoulders, and Carlos leaned down into Logan's touch. Logan then leaned down to place a small kiss to Carlos' forehead and then he sat and watched the sun set over the horizon the moment completely perfect.
