"Yes. It seems so." Rose did not return his gaze, looking anywhere she could find.
There was a certain awkwardness in the air for the two. John and Jade had taken their newfound relationship quite well - well, as far as the blonde twins knew - but yet...they could not do the same. There was something mutual between them that would not allow it. And they knew it. They had never spoken of it, no, but...
Rose stole a glance at Dave's eyes through his shades. Even through the blackened veil of the glasses, there was some sadness behind it. She knew. She always knew him. And he always knew her, too. More than anyone else in the world knew them. And they both knew that for certain.
Dave gave her a small nod before Rose wrapped her arms tightly around him, face buried in his chest to hide the tears threatening to fall. Dave kept the same pokerface behind the shades. But he was affected, too. He returns her hug, arms tight around her.
It wasn't right. This wasn't right. Nothing was right. THey were paradox clones, for God's sake! This probably wasn't legal and, even if it was...it would be seen as incest. Twincest. Rose shuddered at the thought. They both knew it was wrong. And how they could just wish it away forever...
But they couldn't.
They both closed their eyes in hope that, if this was a nightmare,they could wake upand their love would be okay again.
