"I knew you'd come back." Charles said.
Erik stopped in the middle of the corridor and slowly turned around to face the other man. Xavier was some feet away from the door and he had a big, wide smile and his face; like someone had just give his birthday's, the Christmas' and children's day's presents, all at once.
"I knew you'd reconsider." he continued. "We can do some much together, training those children and…"
Erik covered the distance between then in a blink of an eye. He stood there, then, right in front of him, so close it was almost invasive; Charles held his breath, trying to ignore the thousands of butterflies running through his stomach. Looking straight at the deep-blue eyes of Lehnsherr was like drowning in an ocean, but he couldn't get enough.
"I didn't come back for them." Erik said, moving his face some inches, up until a point where their noses were almost touching. "I came back for you."
Charles instinctively closed his eyes, waiting for something that never came. Their lips never touched and slowly, he felt Erik's body moving away from his, leaving an empty space that shouldn't exist.
"I'm off to bed. Good night, Charles." The master of magnetism said, going in the opposite direction. Charles watched until the other man disappeared at the end of the corridor, sure as hell he wouldn't be able to sleep that night.
And now he needed a cold shower.
