"I'm HIDEOUS!" the girl cried, touching the marks in her face. She had just conjured a mirror and spent the last minutes putting the tonic Professor Slughorn gave to her on the scars Greyback had left. After a couple of minutes, all that was left was scars, things that would never leave her face.
"That's not true, darling." Parvati, sitting next to her, said. "We can use cosmetics to cover it! You know everything will be alright." But deep down, Patil knew it was a lie: some ten feet away from them was Bill Weasley, a victim of the same fate of Lavender.
Apparently, the scars left by a werewolf were was permanent as lycanthropy itself.
"I think you look beautiful." Someone said, behind the mirror. Seamus Finnigan was standing there, looking both miserable and incredible happy. He and Dino got stuck in the second floor, fighting a bunch of Death Eaters, until Seamus' wand go crazy and blow half of the corridor, pretty much killing all of them. It was his most glorious moment, definitely.
Lavender tried to cover his face and move away, but Seamus was quicker: he sat next to her, holding one of her hands, the other one holding a piece of wood. The stick slowly turned into a flower, but it burst into flames before it could bloom.
"You think so?" Lavender blushed, carefully holding the flower. They exchange a smile, Seamus slightly touching one of Lavender's scars. She closed her eyes, trying not to cry, but tears kept falling from her eyes regardless.
The war was over; some loves were lost. Maybe it was time to find new ones.
