This is one of those don't ask, don't tell things.  I passed a girl today with white-blond hair, and started thinking.  This popped into my head.  I think it may be the first of several blurbs, just thoughts on an idea.  If you have any topic that you want me to discuss or have the characters discuss, just drop me a note and I'll mull it over.  My mind can scare even myself sometimes.

NOT MINE!

Harry and Draco discuss something, or rather, Harry talks about something.  Draco listens.

A Passing Blurb

Harry and Draco were sitting in companionable silence on a bench in the middle of a park when Harry had a revelation.  Now, not only was this a revelation, but it was a revelation about Draco!  It was so amazing, so incredible, so unbelieveable, that he just had to say it out loud!

            "Your hair is weird."

Now that got Draco's attention.  "Excuse me?"

"It's a weird color.  Look at it!  Now, it's not the only hair in the magic world that changes lengths from place to place, from being long and tied back like Lucius' was in the movies or short and slicked back like yours was in the movie, but it also changes color!  Not only that, but it changes to a weird color!  I mean, come on!  How many people have silver hair and are proud of it as a teenager?"

"Eh?" was all Draco could manage.

"Most people say you have silver hair, or white-blond hair.  White-blond, I can see, maybe.  I walked past this girl today, with long, frizzy, curly, white-blonde hair and I thought first "Wow, what ugly hair color!  Is it real?"  Then I thought, "Hey, that's Draco's hair color . . . sometimes!"  I decided right then and there that I didn't like you with white-blond hair."

            "Uh, okay."

"So then I started thinking about silver hair.  Now, silver hair is weird too.  In Lord of the Rings stories, a lot of the prettiest elves have silver hair, if they can't have gold hair like Legolas.  Now, silver hair is weird too.  What color would you call silver?  You would call blond hair gold, so would silver be gray or white?  But how would that look on you?  It would just look weird!  White hair, and I'd mistake you for an albino.  Grey hair and I'd probably stick your head in a tub, along with Snape's.  White and grey hair just look silly on a kid our age."

            "But . . ."

"So then I got back to thinking, "Well, what about blond hair?  Draco can have blond hair, can't he?"  In fact, the more I thought about it, the more I decided that blond hair was the best color on you.  But then I wanted to know why you couldn't have blond hair in all the stories written about you."

            "Uh . . ."

"Suddenly, it hit me!  Blond just isn't a romantic color!  In fact, it's not even unusual or original!  Come on, how many people dye or bleach their hair blond each day?  Blond is just ordinary, and you can't be ordinary!  You either have to be the rotten, spoiled, spiteful Slytherin or the hurt, devastated, good-hearted, abused child hiding under your icy shell.  You can't have ordinary blond hair!  Thus your weird hair was born!"

            "Um, sure."

"Do you have anything to add?"

"What was the point of all that?"

"Oh, the point?  Um, let me think about that."

And thus the two lapsed back into silence until another time.

~FIN~

This is the second short ficlet/blurb thingy in two days.  I'm starting to fear for my sanity.

Wait, no, I lost that a long time ago.

OH NO!  IT'S COMING BACK!
