First Encounter

Summary: how Kakashi met his fiancé Yuki from my story 'Nothing to Fear'

"Come on Kaka-sensei! You're not even putting any thought into it!"

Kakashi rolled his eye before returning it to his book. "Just because you're happy doesn't mean you have to share it Sakura-hime," he drawled.

Ever since Sakura had met and begun to date chunin Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki she had been very happy. So happy, she forced Naruto on a date on Hinata, thought they did enjoy it and got together, as well as with Neji and Tenten and Sai and Ino.

"But Anko-sempai can be nice," Sakura said, though she seemed to be reassuring herself.

"Just drop it Blossom, besides, I'll probably end up in an arranged marriage to continue the Hatake line," Kakashi replied casually.

Sakura frowned. "But don't you want love?" Sakura asked shocked.

Kakashi paused, thinking of the past. "Love can hurt you Sakura," he said quietly and shunshined away.

Ending up on a rooftop a couple kilometers away, Kakashi sat down and continued to read his favorite IchaIcha; keeping half-a-mind on his surroundings. Kakashi got in a few hours of reading when the light began to dim and thunder began to rumble. Closing his book with a snap and putting it away, Kakashi stood and started to hop the rooftops towards the Hatake Compound.

While Kakashi was traveling through the rain something caught his eye. Pausing, Kakashi stared through his bangs. It was a woman who was pale with long, silky looking black hair and emerald green eyes. She was clearly civilian by how clumsy she was in Shinobi eyes but graceful in his eyes. She laughed at a woman with her and as cliché as it was, Kakashi heard bells.

"Kakashi my eternal rival!" Gai was suddenly blocking his view. "It is unyouthful to stand in the rain you'll-"

"Not now Gai," Kakashi said, looking around the green weirdo. "I'm-"

She was gone! Kakashi blinked and looked around the area. Where'd she go in such a short time?

"Kakashi?" Gai asked curiously, glancing over his shoulder.

"Bye Gai," Kakashi answered and jumped off the roof in the direction he last saw her.

Looking back and forth, Kakashi finally came across her at the local dance shop with the woman Kakashi finally recognized as Kurenai. Suddenly, the woman looked up and like a fairytale; their eyes met. They stared a few moments before Kakashi and the woman walked towards one another. Embarrassed, Kakashi smiled.

"Kakashi," he greeted, rubbing his neck.

The woman smiled and laughed. "Yuuki," she replied.

And they knew; this was the start of something new.
