Hearing Voices
Disclaimer on Primrose Academy man
Warning: this is angsty, weird shit
Biscotti is my friend YenKin's OC and Kirin is mine 3
His head was screaming again...
Or rather, SHE was screaming again.
And all the while, he could only sit. And wait.
Sit. And listen.
Listen as they went on about their "work", their "research" to "better mankind".
And all the while, she screamed and screamed and screamed...
It was like only he could hear her. Hear her, but never see or touch or protect her...He just sat in that white walled room they locked him up in with the bright lights and the cushy padding...
Sometimes he'd scream too, hoping that she could hear him. So that maybe she didn't feel so alone. He'd call for her...for Rain...Noel...Nyo was long gone, taken by those monsters...Sometimes he'd scream until his voice got horse or a strange and sudden sleep would wash over him like a breaking wave...
"I need you...Where are you?"
And when she needed him most, he wasn't there...
"Why are they hurting us...?"
There wasn't much of an answer for it...Not that he'd ever get the chance to answer her anyway because right after that, the screaming pain started up again like the sound of a drill...It was like this.
All day
Every day
Always.
Until one day:
It stopped...
All of it. All the noise went away, save for a soft whisper that fled like the wind. Wind that didn't exist in a place like this. And yet, the voice was so soft...Such a low whisper that he swore he felt lips brush over his ear like a gentle summer breeze...
"It's time to go, Biscotti," she whispered. Her hair was neat and tucked back behind her ear, coat and skirt clean and pressed and her emblems dangled behind her, clinking like wind chimes in the breeze.
His eyes flickered to her ruby orbs for a moment and a flash of madness ran through them until all had settled once more.
The voice in his head was whispering softly, such sweet words making the room spin when she stretched her hand out to him. "Or do you wish to stay?"
"No," he answered surely and took her by the hand. "It's time we went on our way Kirin..."
And they walked a path of red all the way into the night...
