Just a quick one-shot that came to me last night. I own nothing.
It was a saturday evening. The first saturday of March. The air, still chill from winter, was beginning to warm. All the frost and snow had melted, leaving the lake and surrounding lochs full. The trees, just starting to bloom again, swayed slightly in the breeze. Hermione and Luna were resting under a tree on the edge of the Black Lake, going between light chatting and just looking out at the landscape. The sun was setting behind the hills and valleys surrounding the Castle and a crisp, winter-like wind blew through the Forest. Hermione shivered slightly and huddled closer to Luna.
"I never realized how beautiful it is out here." She said quietly. Luna wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled the other girl closer to her.
"People never really do seem to see whats right in front of them." She agreed, her breath tickling Hermione's ear.
"I'll miss you next year, Luna." Hermione admitted after a moment. Grasping her hand, Luna intertwined their fingers.
"We'll see each other after Hogwarts." Luna stated. "It's just one year." She gently squeezed Hermione's hand.
"I hope so." She murmured, placing a gentle kiss against Luna's forehead.

The sky was dark before either girl spoke again. The moon, just barely starting to rise, reflected off the surface of the lake. The stars had not yet come out and around them, the girls could hear the sounds of the creatures in the Dark Forest, owls, wolves and the occasional Centaur hoof.
"Luna?" Hermione asked quietly. "Did you ever wish on stars?" Luna turned to her, and Hermione could make out a quizzical look on her face. "You know- the nursery rhyme? Star light, Star bright. First star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might. Have the wish I wish tonight." She recited, gazing up at the empty sky. Luna giggled softly beside her.
"I never wished on the first star. It never comes true if you do." She rested her head on Hermione's shoulder. "Everyone wishes on the first star and so no wishes come true. I always used the second star I saw. Those have always come true." She explained dreamily. Hermione smiled at her before looking back at the sky. Finding a second star, she closed her eyes and made a wish.

It was nearly midnight now. The dark velvet of the sky was filled with tiny, shimmering stars. A large, nearly full moon hung overhead, casting a cool light on the grounds. The castle was dark, only the occasional dormitory light flickered out the windows. In front of them, the Black Lake lapped gently against the shore, stirring around the stars reflected on its surface. Hermione had nearly fallen asleep when she felt Luna shift around next to her.
"We should probably go inside." Hermione whispered.
"Not yet." Luna whispered back. Hermione felt Luna's hand go around her waist, holding her there.
"Luna-" She started to speak before getting cut off.
Luna pressed her lips against Hermione's in a tentative kiss and pulled them closer together. Smiling slightly, Hermione leaned into the kiss, deepening it. A moment later, they pulled apart. Still pressed together, they sat there quietly.
"You're right Luna." Hermione muttered after a moment. The other girl looked up at her quizzically. "The second star makes the wish come true."
