Pony Farms:

She grinned, he grimaced, and the dwarf guffawed.

"Do you agree to bargain, mortal?"

The demon asked, focusing on the one who appeared to be the leader, a small, scrappy, brunette warrior carrying a sword twice her own height and emitting a bubbly aura which contrasted the gloomy atmosphere of the dark cavern around her.

She crossed her arms over her chest and stubbornly shook her head.

"Only if I get a pony farm."

The white-haired elf looked at her in shock for a moment before snarling out, "Hawke you cannot be serious!"

Peering at her companion, she contemplated his response for a few seconds. Then she gasped.

"Maker, Fenris you're right!"

The former slave closed his eyes and sighed in relief, loosening his grip on his longsword."

"I should ask to get two pony farms!"

"Hawke..." he gritted out, lyrium tattoos aglow.

"Alright, alright! Geez Fenris, no need to get your smalls in a twist."

As Varric chuckled behind them, no doubt storing this conversation in the back of his mind to repeat it to the rest of their entourage later, the young warrior stepped forward, taking a hostile stance as she yelled at the demon.

"We will not bargain with the likes of you, demon!"

"Such a shame... I would have given you all you desire. Now you shall perish like the rest!"

Many abominations and shades later, the trio sheathed their bloodied weapons and gathered the fallen loot.

"Fenris?"

Hawke approached the broody warrior slowly, gradually kneeling down next to him to help with the searching of the corpses.

"Yes, Hawke?"

"You know I wouldn't truly sell myself out to a demon for two pony farms, right? Even if it did give me power or wealth or whatever?"

The elf looked down at her, harsh forest green eyes softening as they met innocent chocolate brown.

"Yes, I know for all your jesting and bouts of foolishness at the absoute worst of times, you would never do such a thing."

She couldn't help but smile up at him.

"Well, good. Because it would of had to offer me at least three pony farms before I would consider dealing with the demon and possibly selling us all out to its whims."

"..."

"Fenris?"

"...Hawke?"

"Yes, Fenris?"

"I suggest you scout ahead, lest you meet a tramatic end at the hands of something or someone other than a demon."

She grinned, standing up in a single fluid motion and darting down the dark passageway.

"Our little Hawke may be crazy and ridiculous at times, but she never fails to make things interesting, eh Broody?"

Varric said with a chuckle.

"That she does indeed," Fenris shook his head, eyes following the small figure in the darkness that grew smaller and smaller with each passing second and laughed without abandon.
