Hello!
This is my first Glee attempt. :D I don't even think it's half decent, but I enjoy writing it. :)
I had to find some way of fulfilling my need for cute Klaine when Season 4 doesn't air where I live until late February, 2013.. Yes, you read that right.. :(
Anyways! Happy reading. :D Tell me what you think about it. :) xx
Just finished this btw, so if there's any mistakes, I apologise. I'll edit soon!
Blaine grudgingly knew that he had himself, and himself only, to blame. Everything he should not have done, he did. He had overlooked the niggling alarm bells in the back of his mind, and now had to suffer the consequences.
It started the night before.
Minutes before Kurt and Blaine reached Kurt's cosy, and welcomingly empty, home, fingers intertwined with one another's, the black sky had cracked in two and bled a river of icy water down on top of their heads. The pebbles lining the sides of the road were almost instantly swimming in muggy streams.
"Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no, no!" Kurt had cried in horror, casting a terrified glance up to the gnarling, sooty clouds. "Not this jacket," he spluttered, swiping the back of his palm across his face in a futile attempt to clear his eyes of the heavy raindrops. "It's designer, Blaine! Designer!"
Crooking a wide grin, Blaine managed to stifle a chuckle. He flexed his soaked fingers around Kurt's and quickened their pace, smiling soothingly at his dripping boyfriend as their watery destination rose into view. "We're almost there," he said, shuddering as a trickle of rain kissed the back of his neck frostily. "Don't worry-"
Kurt's knuckles were abruptly knotted into the slick lapels of Blaine's long coat, tearing the garment open and wrapping it half around himself to shield the most part of his beautiful jacket from the downpour. His solid chest, rising and falling quickly with panicked breaths, pressed to his boyfriend's body firmly. Blaine instantly felt the water on Kurt's skin and clothes seep through his thin shirt and cool him. It was a pleasant contrast to the sudden ripples of teasing heat rolling down his slender legs, in response to Kurt's proximity.
He couldn't ignore how near Kurt's face was to his. He couldn't help but inhale and sway on his feet as gentle vanilla clouded his mind. Glistening with rain, Kurt's cerulean eyes glowed gently with the reflection of a street lamp.
Smirking, Blaine slipped his sneaky fingertips beneath Kurt's shirt, sliding them around to rest comfortably in the small of the taller boy's back. Kurt released a short, surprised sound, before Blaine was pulling him flush against his chest and stealing his breath with his satiny lips. Raindrops saturated everything surrounding them, splashed against their skin, but, trembling, Kurt found the worries over his designer jacket melting away with dizzying speed. He was almost drinking rainwater from Blaine's red lips, but he didn't care- he wanted more.
Tilting away only when both boy's needed to gasp for air, Kurt brushed Blaine's soft cheekbone with the wet pads of his fingertips. His lips turned up into a small smile, and he leaned away when the smaller boy chased it with his own.
"Kissing in the rain?" Kurt whispered, shivering as a flutter of Blaine's eyelashes had them stroking Kurt's fingers lightly. "How romantic."
Blaine's second slip-up of the evening occurred not more than an hour following the first.
The flirty pair were cuddled up in front of the growing fire, hoping to replace the chill on their skins with the warmth radiating from the crimson flames. Kurt had hurriedly changed into his silk, navy pyjamas, designer jacket reverentially hanging close to the fire, and Blaine had wriggled into a pair of his boyfriend's sweatpants and shirt. Steadily regaining their body temperatures, legs tangled together beneath a blanket, the boys watched replays of one of Kurt's favourite fashion shows on the television.
"Chocolate?" the brown-haired boy offered, seconds before the dramatic climax of the programme. He had sheepishly realised that he'd been hogging and scoffing the entire jumbo-sized chocolate bar the entire hour, nibbling anxiously on chunks he cracked off as he prayed that his preferred contestants would win.
"Please," Blaine chirped, turning his head to brush his lips feather-lightly to Kurt's exposed shoulder. He loved the feel of his boyfriend's milky skin. Kurt, feeling the heat of Blaine's lips melt into his bones, was pleasantly surprised. Catching his breath, he gently leaned into the touch and then allowed a shiver to dance up his spine. He carefully snapped a little section of the delicious candy bar off, and, without ungluing his hungry eyes from the television screen, balanced it on his fingers to hold them out to Blaine.
Hidden from Kurt's sight, Blaine's cheeks split into an amused grin. Liquid mischief kindled in his soft, hazel eyes.
Soundlessly, as to not distract Kurt from the television, he leant forward and closed his warm, damp lips completely around three of Kurt's fingers.
"Oh!" Kurt yelped, starting as his eyes widened considerably. His hair flew maniacally around his face as he whipped his head to the side and met his boyfriend's teasing gaze above his pale knuckles. Blaine wiggled his eyebrows playfully, coaxing a strained laugh from his love.
"Blaine," Kurt whispered, badly disguising how breathless he unexplainably felt. He wasn't sure if the tiny simple action, combined with Blaine's sultry eyes and look, was legal. It did crazy things to his body- added speed to his bloodstream and an uneven thud to his heartbeat. Heat pooled in the pit of his belly and spilled out, spreading feverishly through his limbs until it warmed his fingertips and toes.
"Baby," Kurt brokenly squeaked, freezing once more as Blaine gently bit his fingers, eyes flickering brightly with amusement. Kurt lifted his free hand, the one currently not in Blaine's mouth, and pushed a stray strand of hair from Blaine's forehead. He allowed his fingers to sift back through his boyfriend's cottony, untamed curls, the rain from earlier having stripped it of gel. "W-what are you doing, baby?"
Blaine sucked softly on Kurt's fingers, sliding his lips along their slender length until he reached their velvety tips, where he snatched the chocolate into his mouth. His lips left Kurt's skin with an audible pop.
Kurt's bottom jaw fell in the slightest. As he took note of Blaine's smug expression, smiling into his eyes as he munched happily on his sweet, Kurt's cheeks bloomed with colour.
Blaine threw his head back and laughed. "You're adorable, Kurt," he whispered, snaking forward to kiss the blushing boy's temple affectionately.
Blaine sealed the deal on his future misfortune that night.
"Blaine?"
Less than five minutes after three in the morning, something gripped his shoulder tightly and shook. An anxious voice hissed frantically in his ear. Cold hands cupped his face a little too harshly than what Blaine was accustomed to, and he slowly clawed his way back to consciousness to be met by azure orbs, not swimming but drowning in fear.
Kurt collapsed into Blaine's warm chest once he was sure that he was awake, and nuzzled hastily into the toasty spot where Blaine's neck and shoulder met. He fisted clumps of his boyfriend's grey t-shirt in his hands and bit down so heavily on his lip in an attempt to smother a sob that he almost drew blood.
"Blaine," he breathed again, his voice scratchy and sounding uncharacteristically like a whine.
The smaller boy struggled into a half-sitting position, raking a hand through his hair to eradicate the sleepy fog that was his mind. Kurt clung to Blaine's body and shifted with him, seizing the opportunity to clamber unorthodoxly into Blaine's lap and choke him with an unrelenting hold around his neck. He pressed his forehead into Blaine's shoulder, quivering with powerful tremors, and it was only when Blaine felt two, salty teardrops dampen his skin that he realised that Kurt, his strong Kurt, was crying.
"Oh, baby," he whispered lovingly in Kurt's ear, enveloping the shaking boy in an embrace. Kurt responded by burrowing deeper into Blaine's pacifying arms gratefully, chest heaving with repressed cries as his boyfriend began rubbing his back with slow, soothing circles.
"Another nightmare?" Blaine murmured, peppering tender kisses along Kurt's brow and temple. He deliberately avoided his ashen cheeks and neck, because he knew from past experiences that pressing his lips to either of those places of Kurt's skin would cause him to unravel violently all over again.
A hoarse strangled-sounding cough from Kurt's throat, which rattled both boy's ribcages, was answer enough.
Blaine tightened his arms around Kurt, humming comfortingly into his soft hair. "Shh, shh," he soothed, his warm voice like a balm to the knot of anxiety in Kurt's chest. "It's okay, baby. Let it out." He stroked Kurt's back gently in the same way that Kurt rubbed his that day he had an awful bout of stomach flu.
Sometime after six in the morning, the shivers and sobs wracking Kurt's body ceased, and, wrapped securely in his boyfriend's arms, head beneath Blaine's chin, he drifted to sleep.
In the space of ten, utterly ordinary hours, Blaine had set himself up for disaster.
Hope you guys enjoyed it! X'D I'll put up a second chapter shortly.
Thanks for reading! xx
