The Dragon King
by: Cathy-chan

*Here comes another poem that appeared due to "I feel like writing a poem for the hell of it." case. Since I want some kind of variety in my poems, I've decided to make this a sad one. I think it's obvious what the poem's about, but to make it clear, this poem is in Van's point of view. It's a reflection of his feelings for the war, Fanelia and his family. I hope you'll like it! Please don't hesitate to give me feedback on it!

I fly alone across the blue moon
My wings carry memories of long ago
Memories of peace destroyed by war

A beautiful mother
Hummed to me softly as I slept
She sang the song of Fanelia
Sweet voice; as sweet as an Angel's harp
I felt safe
Happiness could be easiily reached
As my mother holds my hand

But now, the songs are gone
There's no more hand to hold

A brother gave me wisdom
Carries me updwards
As if I can touch the sky
He tells me stories of a great king
Warrior against dragons
He tells me a magnificent tale
As I hear his strong voice

But now, the sky cannot be touched
The tales are no more

Glorious battles
A kingdom victorious
An evil conquered
A pure-hearted prince rewarded
It wasn't reality

A queen weeping for her dead king
A prince in shame
Unseen giants spilling blood
A kingdom destroyed
And wings that carry dark pasts
This is reality
A reality that I must face

Even now, I hear her weeping
She weeps for my brother
She weeps for me
Don't cry, mother...

With my wings
I will carry the burden
With my claws
I will destroy all who oppose me
With my eyes
I will search for a new beginning
With my heart
I will cry for you too

I am the dragon.
