"So it's decided!" Aichi laid some papers on one of the tables of the physics classroom that acted as the Miyaji Cardfight club's room. "The Miyaji, Hitsue, and Fukuhara cardfight clubs are all visiting Aibo Academy to watch the ABC Cup!" He handed one out to each of the club members. "The Fukuhara cardfight club decided to fund most of the trip for us and Hitsue as long as we pay for our own food."
"ABC Cup? Never heard of it." Naoki stated.
"Surprisingly, I haven't either." Shingo flipped through a cardfight magazine, searching for any mentions of it. Kourin and Misaki shrugged as well.
"I didn't expect any of you to hear about it, really. It's not Vanguard related, but when Ren, Kai, and I met up, we decided that we should expand our knowledge to other card games so we can apply what we learned to cardfight!"
"So we, the cardfight club, are going on a trip with other cardfight clubs to see something that isn't cardfight?!" Misaki looked up from her homework.
"Yup! The student council already approved it!" Aichi seemed ecstatic about the event. "It's a once in a lifetime chance! It's hard to get there y'know! We're going to be there for a week and a half. We already have hotel room reservations and and and-"
"But what about school?" Kourin asked. "I mean, I also have my idol work, but I'm sure I can talk to Takuto and put that off."
"I was told we can do our school work while we're there and we sent a request in to one of Miyaji's sister schools there to attend classes if needed. Also, we have a two week long break around the trip anyway. That's how most of the time is going to be spent." He turned to face Misaki. "We might need to pick up some stuff at Card Capital too. I don't know how popular cardfight is there."
"I'm sure Shin will be happy to hear that." Misaki muttered.
"We leave in a month! It's a little farther out, so we'll be taking a train there. Let's see... We can go on a group shopping trip with Hitsue and Fukuhara students next week. Also, you need permission from your parents or guardians. That stuff. I really think this will help us grow closer as a team, guys." Aichi gathered up the extra fliers and scanned the room. "If we could all go, that would make me really happy..."
Everyone looked at Aichi.
"Well, this would be our first time going somewhere as a club... Even if the Hitsue and Fukuhara clubs are going, we'll still have time to ourselves..." Kourin noted. "And if Fukuhara's going, then Suiko will probably go. We would have to put our idol work on hold anyway... Count me in, Aichi!" Kourin rose her hand.
"Shin'd probably make me go anyway. If not him, then Akari would probably persuade me somehow. So I'm going." Misaki smiled and put up her hand too.
"Miyaji isn't fun without you guys, so I'll go!" Naoki's fist shot in the air.
"You'll need someone to help with your studies over there, Porcupine Head. Besides, I've always been quick with picking up new things. So I'll go too." Shingo adjusted his glasses and rose his hand.
"It's unanimous! Thank you, everyone! I'm so happy..." Aichi was beaming.
Naoki cleared his throat.
"Aichi, what card game IS featured in the ABC Cup?"
"Let's see..." Aichi read a description off of one of the papers. After finding the section describing the game, he read it aloud. "Get ready for a cool new card game that connects to a parallel universe. Special cards act as portals, bringing monsters to Earth to become buddies with humans and through friendship and courage, help them take on fight challenges. It's called Buddyfight!"
