Blissful Agony
Trapped within another time
I changed our phase and space.
Banished for eternity;
I never thought I'd see your face.
Jim, it's great to see you
so young and still so bold.
But seeing you reminds me
of how I've grown so old.
I was present at your passage;
still the youngest Captain in the fleet.
I watched as history set us straight,
yet I could not take a seat.
My T'hy'la, my dear Captain-
My partner and my friend.
I said I'd always be yours
and I mean that til the end.
I know that he is not you Jim;
please don't take this to heart.
But being close to this new you-
why, it's tearing me apart.
He has your laugh and stunning smile
and all your playful charm.
He also has your sensual tone
That's always caused alarm.
You know his eyes are different;
not hazel-brown, but blue.
In a way I'm very thankful-
it makes him less like you.
He does not have your knowing ways,
nor does he wear your face.
I realized this as punishment;
I'd get no 'saving grace'.
The time of you and I has past-
To that I'm not blind to see.
But seeing us replay our parts
is a blissful agony.
First ST poetry; I'm open to things I need to fix and criticism is happily accepted XD
No flames though, please!
