Hey People, what's going on? Like the summary says, this is a breakup fic so, if you don't like, no flames. You have been
warned! As you know, Luigi/Daisy is one of my favourite pairings, so why I thought up this fic is a mystery. I guess the song
just really seems to suit the characters, that's all. As you probably already know, I do not own Luigi, or Daisy, or any of the
Nintendo characters. I do not own this song either.
Are You Lonesome Tonight?
By Elvis Presley
Luigi sat sullenly in his arm chair, gazing out the window and into the star filled sky. Although the stars seemed to illuminate the night with their bright, twinkling light, behind them, the deep, dark blue sky remained.
Are you lonesome tonight,
do you miss me tonight?
Are you sorry we drifted apart?
His mind began to wander, and although he tried his best not to, the only thing he seemed capable of thinking about was his girlfriend Daisy. Well...ex-girlfriend.
Does your memory stray,
to a brighter summer day,
when I kissed you and called you sweetheart?
The breakup had seemed so, unreal to him and he still couldn't seem to understand why it had happened, or if it had even really happened. Thinking about it now, it was almost as if it had been a dream, or, maybe a nightmare.
Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare?
Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there?
One minute they were talking and laughing, having a great time. And the next, well, you can probably guess what ruined the fun.
Is your heart filled with pain,
shall I come back again?
Tell me dear are you lonesome tonight?
He pulled himself away from the night sky just long enough to glance around the empty house. The dinning room with it's two empty chairs, which usually would have been occupied by he and Mario.
I wonder if, your lonesome tonight
You know someone said that the world's a stage
And each must play a part
However his brother had been spending much of his time with Peach lately, and Luigi often found himself eating many of his meals alone.
Fate had me playing in love with you as my sweetheart.
Act one was where we met,
I loved you at first glance
He tried not to, but couldn't help picturing her vivid sapphire eyes. The way she used to look at him, that playful glint always present.
You read your lines so cleverly and never missed a cue
Then came act two,
you seemed to change and you acted strange
And why I'll never know
Or that bright yellow sun dress that she would often wear on those warm summer afternoons. The wind tossing her auburn curls every which way as they sat together.
Honey, you lied when you said you loved me
And I had no cause to doubt you.
But I'd rather go one hearing your lies,
Then go on living without you
Whatever he did, he just could not stop thinking about her, and it saddened him to think that these fond memories were all he had left of their relationship.
Now the stage is bare, and I'm standing there
with emptiness all around
and if you won't come back to me,
then they can bring the curtain down
The only thing he could do now was sit, reminiscing their time together and mourning over his lost love. The only speck of hope that kept him from breaking down into tears, was the thought that maybe, just maybe, Daisy was feeling the same way.
Is your heart filled with pain,
shall I come back again?
Tell me dear are you lonesome tonight?
WAAAHHHH! I'm crying! No really, I am! So, was it sad, or just really fluffy? Personally, I think it was a little of both, but we'll
let the reviews decide. Hope you enjoyed!
