The batle was finaly over. Sakura stood up gingerly, her legs shaking slightly. blood dripped slowly from a wound on her shoulder. She knew the batle was won, but lots of the Konoha Ninjas were injured... or worse, dead. She looked around trying to find a familiar face. Then she heard a terrible howl of grief. She tried to find who had done it and saw through the dust, Naruto crouched over a immobile body whith the rest of her friends standing around him. She ran towards them but slowed down when she saw who was lying on the ground.
"LEE!!" She yelled.
He was covered in blood and a aweful wound on his stomach was turning the ground red. She pushed Naruto away and put all her efforts into healing him. He couldnt leave now he had to protect her he had said he would. Sakura could never imagine life whithout him. Tears were streaming down her cheeks as she healed his wound. She put a hand to his neck and felt for a pulse. It was faint but there. She couldn't do anything more to help, he was the one who had to fight. She desperately pressed her lips to his, her love and grief burning inside her trying to get a litlle warmth in him hoping he would wrap his arms around her. And that's exactly what happened. Shoked, Sakura felt him pull her closer to him and start kissing back, hands stoking her hair softly. She pulled away, tears still in her eyes and saw him smile weakly and wipe the tears away. He had always been there to whipe the tears away.
Naruto let out a sigh of relief and fell on his knees next to Lee. Sakura heard movement behind her and turned sharply, expecting to see an enemy. Relief flooded through her when she saw it was Tsunade. She raced towards them and examinded Lee. After a while, she smiled at Sakura and told her she had done a brilliant job and had saved Lee's life. Sakura blushed a little and Naruto laid an hand on her shoulder. She knew what it meant. Naruto wouldn't make it if he lost a friend after Sasuke left 3 years ago. Sakura knew hoe he felt because she felt exactly the same way. She looked down to see Lee unconcious. "exhausted" Tsunade said. She watched as medical ninjas raced towards them and carried Lee away. She wanted to go with them, but Tsunade said she sould rest. She reluctantly agreed. The sun broke through the clouds and Sakura enjoyed the feeling of warmth on her skin. She felt so tired, her legs were like led. And then, she blacked out.
When she woke up, she was in a warm bed in what she guessed would be a hospital. She tried to move but the pain brought tears in her eyes, falling silently down her cheek. She looked up and saw him, with wis warm smile and soft eyes. He reached out and wiped the tears off her cheeks.
