With Dean out on shopping duty, Sam sat alone in their motel, brooding. Nothing strange for a cranky teenager.
He remembered he thought their life was adventurous as a child. Going from place to place with a new home to explore every so often, especially with a big brother intent on taking care of him.
A few years later Sam learned that making friends and leaving them behind, not staying anywhere for long, was heart-breaking at best. Nowadays their father was away more often than not, the adventure had lost its appeal, and now he hated it with a passion.
