"Come on," Quentin said, smiling up at the unsure brunet standing by the lake's shore.
"I… I don't think this is a good idea…" Ian mumbled, biting his lip and twiddling his thumbs.
"I'll be here with you," Quentin reassured him. "I won't let you drown."
Ian took a deep breath, looking around unsurely before stepping into the shallow water. His eyes were squeezed shut and it was like he was expecting to plummel down. He opened his eyes tentatively, looking at the smiling Mudkip. Quentin grasped his hand, slowly tugging him into the deepening water.
He unconsciously clung to his friend, fearfully gazing into the murky water.
Quentin kept whispering reassuring things; half of which totally slipped Ian's mind. When he opened his eyes again (after realising he closed them yet again), they were floating on the surface somewhere in the middle of the lake. He tightened his hold on the amphibian, whimpering slightly.
"Look, you made it," Quentin whispered, kicking his legs to keep himself and the shaking brunet afloat. When Ian just whimpered again, he kissed the top of his head gently.
Ian's cheeks set aflame and he quickly looked away.
"Can we just go back on land already?"
