Night time. Sitting on her couch, Beckett enjoyed the taste of wine that sat on her tastebuds. She had her sofa bed out with a blanket because she was tired. Kate sat there eyes drifting in and out of conciousness as she watched Love Actually. She had always enjoyed the film. Beckett would watch it on cold nights as it made her feel safe and warm. She wished her mother coud have seen it but she was already dead. Murdered. Kate hated that about her life, she felt a third of herself was missing. This was not how she wished her life to be when she was younger. Now that got her thinking. Thinking of how life should have been and it was all gone due to kidnappings, ransom, lawyers, leads and most importantly, her mothers case. She suddenly realised how much she was drinking, almost the bottle of wine that sat on the table in front of her. She felt tipsy. Kate realised she was getting as bad as her dead 12 years ago. He drunk and drunk and drunk until passing out on some cases. He almost died. I wonder what would have happened if he had died she thought to herself. He life would have been a lot worse.

A knocking at her door snapped her out of the wirlwind of thoughts that went through her head. It was 9pm and she was drunk but she got up anyway, looking in the mirror as she passed it on the way to the front door. Kate threw it open and was very suprised when she saw the friendly faces of her work collegues Esposito and Ryan. But behind them was someone else. Someone who kate deeply loved but this person didn't know. His smile brightened up any room in any situation. Richard Castle. She still couldn't believe, her favourite author, was her best friend. Right, she remembered she needed to speak "Hey, what are you guys doing here?" She said with a smile. "Castle has something to tell you and we dropped him off so me and Ryan are leaving now so yeah, bye girl." Esposito said quickly before him and Ryan swiftly turned their backs to a comfused detective. Her gaze flew back to Castle who was still standing there. "Sorry, come in." She stepped out the way to let him in. Castle noticed the sofa bed and the now empty bottle of wine and he looked back at her who was shutting the door before tunring round to greet him. "So, what did you wanna tell me then Castle?" She was still smiling but she realised she had to stop before he realised she was extremely happy to see him. He gave her a worried gaze "I think this should be the last case for a while. I have put you in way to much danger of your mothers case. I really don't want to leave but I'm doing it for your safety. I have to get writing as well. I am going to the hamptons with Gina and then trying to remove myself from your life so you will stay safe."

Beckett wouldn't except the words he was saying. "Why are you doing this? I'm fine. No one has killed me. You can stay here. Oh yeah, I forgot your in love with your ex wife Gina. Go have fun with her then. Don't talk to me ever again because you would rather be writing. So, get out." He didn't move from the spot of where he was standing. "GET OUT!" He did as he was told, completly in shock but he had just told he was leaving. Castle traipsed over her floor, in her apartment that he may never see again. He opened the door walked out looked at her and then watched her slam the door in his face.
