One night in the Simpsons home in Springfield, Marge was out with friends, leaving Homer in charge of Bart, Lisa, and Maggie, who were watching an Itchy and Scratchy cartoon.

The cartoon parodied the famous scene from Disney's Sleeping Beauty, in which Prince Phillip fought Maleficent in her dragon form.

Scratchy portrayed Prince Phillip and Itchy Maleficent. Scratchy was trying to kill the mouse-dragon until he blew the shield of virtue with his fiery breath. Before scratchy could do anything, the TV immediately switched off.

"WHAT!" The kids gasped.

"Oh, it was just getting intense." Lisa whined. "That's when things get interesting!"

"Now we'll never know who gets killed!" Bart moaned.

"Sorry, kids, but it's 9 o'clock somewhere." Homer told the kids. "It's time for bed."

"Aww, jeez." Bart complained. "It's too early and it's Friday!"

"I'm not even tired." Lisa protested.

Homer: "Listen, kids, your mom left me in charge. She solemnly said you needed to be in bed at nine."

"Wise words coming from a babysitter who stays up with booze and reality shows until midnight on Fridays." Bart chuckled.

"Why you little!" Before Homer was about to strangle Bart, he thought an explanation would be reasonable.

Homer: "Just realized I need to be a good babysitter. I'm permitted to do these things because I'm older and more responsible."

Lisa: "Last time you babysat us, you left crumbs, leading to nothing but a huge army of ants."

Homer: "Lisa, honey I learned my lesson from that. Always vacuum and leave lots of ant traps."

Lisa: "A more humane idea would be to put them in a jar and set them free."

Bart: "Do we have to go to bed now? I'm still not tired?"

Homer: "Alright. IF you're not so tired, I'll just tire you out myself."

"I wonder how." Lisa said quietly to Bart.

"Let me guess." Bart replied.

Homer soon had all the kids in his and Marge's bed.

"I'll tire you out with a bedtime story of your choice." Homer offered.

Lisa: "How about Shakespeare!"

Bart: "No way! Captain Underpants!"

"Do I have to?" Homer moaned. "They're too long!"

"Ugh, we'll let you pick one this one time." Bart groaned.

"You read my mind." Homer muttered as he went to the bookshelf to find a good book.

"Woo-hoo! I found one!" Homer cheered, pulling out a book of fairytales. "How about some fairytales."

Lisa: "Cool!"

Bart: "Sure beats Shakespeare! I'm up for it!"

Lisa: "Dad, which fairytales will you read to us?"

"I picked it first, so I'll pick the stories to prevent any annoying arguments." Homer told the kids.

Homer flipped through the pages to see which story to read first.

Homer: "First story I'll be reading. Drumroll please."

All three kids did a drumroll and laughed.

"The tale of a wannabe princess who falls for a prince who suffers a dreaded curse turning him into a big flea ridden hairy creature!" Homer announced. "Beauty and the Beast!"
