A letter to Lucy.
(In Virgil's point a view)
Over the years it's been hard to deal with the fact that Mum is gone. I still can't believe how much Mum is missing out on. From Alan taking his first steps, Gordon swimming for gold at the Olympics, John naming a star after her and Scott getting into the Air Force like Dad.
There is so much mum has missed out with me, the thing is I really wish that mum was here to see her Granddaughter being born. Ok I know I wasn't there for Robyn before, but since finding out she and Jo are my world now.
Dear Mum
I am writing to you letting you know how things are going. I know I write to you this time every year. I'd rather put down on paper about how I feel. Dad seems to be doing well lately, since I brought both Jo and Robyn back to the island. You may ask who Robyn is? Well Robyn is my six year old daughter, She is the double of me, it's funny because I didn't know about Robyn until a few weeks ago.
Robyn is a lovely little girl, she has long chestnut brown hair and brown eyes just like us. She never stops talking and likes her drawing pads and music lessons. Does that remind you off someone?
It was a shock when I first found out about Robyn, 24 hours after meeting her she wanted me to start teaching her the piano. I couldn't believe how quick she picked it up for a six year old, her drawings are really good too plus she knows how to play a joke on someone, she has a bit of Gordon in her, although I'm not too sure if that's a bad thing or a good thing.
All of my brothers love Robyn; she gets spoiled rotten because she is the only child on the island.
Robyn's Mum Jo is a wonderful girl, I have known Jo since high School, you might remember Jo because she lived next door to us at her foster parents. She had some really tough times with her foster parents, some days Johnny and I ended up bringing her home with us.
I didn't think that I would be the first Tracy son to get married; if I am honest I really wish you were here to meet Jo. You would love her and I know she is going to make a great Tracy at that.
I better go before Dad or anybody else comes looking for me because I am in my round house apartment which Dad and the guys made up on our return from the wedding hunting we did a few days ago.
Love you lots Mum and I hope you have a lovely birthday. Wherever you are
Missing you from your son Virgil, I will never forget you x
