A/N: Valentine's Day one-shot. Oldrivalshipping
I DON'T OWN ANYTHING!
Blue
Today was Valentine's Day. I beamed in the mirror, surveying my reflection. I was wearing a simple aquamarine turtle-necked dress with a jade necklace on. The necklace was Green's present to me for my birthday, so I decided to wear it.
Green. That boy… he'd better confess to me. Or else, I might tell Silver…
I skipped outside, breathing in the fresh air. Red and Yellow were on a date (that I obviously set up), so Green and I arranged to have a date. Or, sort-of date. More like he'd never admit it WAS a date (it obviously was).
I headed to the café, where we agreed to meet.
"There should be a reservation under the name of Blue-Green," I instructed. Green had originally put it under his name, but I argued that since both of us were going to be there, I wanted my name to be there too. Right next to his.
The waitress checked her computer. "Yep, right this way. Are you going on a date with your boyfriend?"
I waved away the comment, "Boyfriend? Not yet. I'm planning to make him one."
She grinned, "Go for it."
"Green!" I said in a sing-song voice.
He barely glanced up from his menu, "You're late."
"I'm not," I pouted, "And besides, you're just early. Looking really forward to this, huh? You couldn't wait."
"… Whatever. Sit down," he gestured to the seat across to him.
I did. "So, are you going to confess?"
Green, who was sipping a glass of water, almost spit it out on my face. "What makes you say that?'
I rolled my eyes, "VALENTINE'S DAY, Green. The most romantic day of the year. Let me tell you the situation. We're on a date. On Valentine's Day. Alone. Without Gold, Silver, or anyone interrupting."
He sighed, "As if you could be any more obvious, Pesky Girl."
"So... why aren't you CONFESSING TO ME?" I whined. We were at the mall, having finished eating. Green still hadn't done anything. At all. The most romantic moment we've had so far was when I dropped my napkin and he picked it up and gave it to me. Wonderful progress, I tell you.
He ignored me.
"Fine!" I huffed, "Have it your way."
The next hour was a full-out shopping spree for me. It was amazing! Green had the unfortunate job of the bag carrier.
"Blue," he groaned, "We've gone to every shop in the mall. C'mon, let's stop."
I sighed in defeat, "I guess. For now, at least."
He brightened considerably, "So, how about we drop these off at your place and we'll call it a day."
"Sure," I sighed inwardly. I guess I was wrong. "Help me carry these bags, Gre—hey! Green? Where'd you go?"
My partner had disappeared as soon as I said the "help me" part.
"Green is going to get it!" I fumed, lugging all my shopping bags behind me. "I can't believe his nerve! Leaving a lady to carry her bags."
I stopped dead at the doorstep. Laying there, was a bouquet and a note.
I dropped my bags and picked up the bouquet. It had 11 red roses.
I read the note and blushed.
The note read: Do you know flower language? Anyways, I love you. –Green
