Since I was too lazy to make up another character, I decided to use Jacob.
Prologue is short, oh well.
Quil had Claire. Jared had Kim. Sam had Emily…he also had Leah, but as she wasn't his imprint… Embry would probably imprint soon… I laughed bitterly to myself. Although the legends stated that imprinting was very rare, it seemed the current pack was proving it wrong.
Where was my imprint, my soulmate? I would love to think it was Bella, but I knew it wasn't. My love for her had grown as she'd continuously run to me when he had left. And who was he to come back, the fucking bloodsucker? I know that Bella would not have been whole, but think about it.
Sure, the bloodsuckers are 'vegetarians', but that doesn't mean they don't slip up. What if that happened to Bella? I know how much she wants to be a vampire, just like them. It hurts, because I know that we'll never be able to see each other again, unless something absolutely depended on it, like the battle with Victoria's newborns.
But say … Edward lost control. All he would know is thirst – it would take a small bite to turn her, and time. But it would take a small bite and time for all the blood to drain out of her, into the bloodsucker's dead body. No bloodsucker would wait for a human to turn into one of their own when they're dying for it!
So aren't I the better choice? I mean sure, we slip up too, with our tempers. But it is safer than being with someone that causes more than a few ugly scars. So Emily and Sam have to put up with it – and? They get along just fine. Why can't Bella see that?
