Sybil had just gotten off of a long shift at the hospital and was anxious to see her daughter. As she entered through the great doors of Downton, shrieks and cries pierced though the calm air of the great hall. Sybil rushed upstairs to the nursery to see what was wrong.
What she found was her daughter sitting on the floor, crying with Tom brushing her tears away with his thumbs and kissing her forehead. He continually murmured a quiet "I'm sorry" and tried to comfort her with his shh's.
Worried about Sybbie and Tom, she made her present known with an alarmed "What happened?"
Sybbie clumsily ran to her mama, who was at the door of the nursery, wailing and pointing at her da. As she approached, she held her arms up, wanting to be lifted by her mother. Once in her arms, she buried her face in Sybil's neck. Her mama stroked the back of her head, rocking her in attempt to sooth the bawling toddler in her arms.
"Da is mean!" she cried into her mothers shoulder.
Sybil pulled away to look at Sybbie's tear streaked face.
"What happened little one?"
She pouted and scrunched her nose in anger.
"Da doesn't play nice! I made a house and Da pushed it over with Her'cane Tom!"
She shot Tom a look of mild chastisement with exaggerated shock. Tom's jaw dropped.
"I'm sorry love," Tom replied.
Sybil kissed Sybbie's cheek and looked at her daughter's distraught face.
"He did?"
Sybbie fiercely shook her head and nestled her head onto Sybil's shoulder.
"What should be his punishment?"
Sybbie thought for a moment before lifting her head up from her mama's shoulder and looking back at her da before looking back at Sybil with her brows knitted together and a pout on her lips.
"No pudding!"
