They all wonder why she does it.
They wonder why she sleeps around, why she is such a slut, why this and why that. They wonder what could have caused such a sweet girl to go so bad, and as cliché as that sounds, it is true.
Manny knows what they say about her. She knows her reputation and she knows what they think. And she knows that only she knows the true reason that she acts as she does.
She acts this way to convince herself that she is normal, to convince others that she is normal. That she feels the way that a teenage girl should feel. She plays the role of a normal sexually active woman, and she plays it well.
But is all an act, albeit a wonderfully planned act, but an act nevertheless. She hoped that when she changed, her feelings for the opposite sex, or, to be more accurate, her lack of interest in the opposite sex would change.
But no amount of silly affairs can cover up the longing she feels as she watches her female classmates, their lips moving carelessly, oh so tempting, so luscious…
Oh, yes, it is so difficult, putting up this façade, trying to prove to herself that she is normal, and convincing others, for lest someone find out about her true feelings. She would rather be known as a slut than well…she can't even think of it. Perhaps one day she will accept it, and one day she will embrace it. But for now, she will keep things the same. She will allow people to believe what they want.
And for now, she will let them all wonder why she does it.
