Now that that is out of the way-

You're probably wondering what this book is about and how the greatest country in the world has all this spare time to write this guide for you. Well, at the time of writing this, I am not as successful as I am in the future as I'm not even technically recognized as a country yet... Don't worry though. I have been taking the necessary steps to become a country and with this guide, you too can become as well known as I am.

Okay. First things first- you need to make your country. Any old space will do. Some personifications feel that you need to actually have land to be considered a country, but my former British fortresse island(2) works perfectly fine as a country… mostly. We kind of have had some issues in the past with fires (3), but besides that we have many people who are royalty (2) and we even have a few goats.

After that you need to claim your independence from the country that pretends that they can actually have control over you even though you're not even within their territory- looking at you England.(2)

Before being recognized as a country, you'll need to make sure you look as country-like as possible. Make sure to make your flag, national anthem, currency, and passports. You might run into problems like people making counterfeit passports, but if your government is well put together, it won't be long before the problem is resolved. (5)

A lot of personifications look and act like human adults also when they have their own country so be as grown up as possible. I tend to wear taller shoes and on occasion even make small talk about the weather and taxes when around other personifications are around. I haven't found success yet, but I'm sure in time everyone will see me and think about how much of an adult I am.

The final step to becoming a nation is getting your name out there for the other personifications to know so that they can truly know that you are a nation worthy of being recognized. This may mean trying to run into them on "accident" to introduce yourself and tell them why they should recognize you or looking up when the world meetings are on your jerk brother's calendar so you can sneak in and learn more about being a nation.

My last tip is to not give up no matter what. Sure there will be times where it seems becoming a nation is too hard and that it would just be easier to just be known as "England's little brother", but with some time and effort, there will come a day where you too can be recognized as a nation.
