The gun being shoved in his back was giving him a pinched nerve. With an unceremonious shove, he was thrust forward into the room filled with the rest of the hostages. He turned around, gathering his feet under him when another gun man shoved a woman at him. Caught off balance, he barely managed to keep both of them upright. On a first date he wouldn't have earned points for where his hands went.
The gun man barked something at his comrades and the four ski masked individuals disappeared into the hallway. The door was slammed shut and locked from the outside. Lucas had righted himself and the woman. "I'm sorry." He apologized.
The woman muttered something, her loose hair blocking her face. He almost could hear a sob as she pushed away from him and walked towards the wall. He caught a glimpse of dark eyes and a familiar face. It couldn't be.
With a glance at the other hostages, all of which were staying far away from the doors and windows. He followed the woman into the small side of the L shaped room. "Hey." He grabbed her gently by the arm, just in case he was wrong. She glanced up at him sharply and his grip tightened as he realized who it was.
"You...!"
In two quick motions, she stepped out of his grip. He grabbed her again. She fought him and they ended up against the wall. Julia Green laughed quietly. "Fancy meeting you here. I see you recovered nicely."
"What are you doing here?" Lucas asked harshly, pinning her in place. "Did you have something to do with this?"
She glared at him. "Seriously? Is that anyway to greet an old friend? And no, I'm an innocent bystander; just like you." Something pointy poked him in the stomach. "Let me go."
Lucas looked down to see a knife jabbed against his torso. He let her go and stepped back, holding his hands out to show her he wasn't going to play hero today. The knife disappeared somewhere on her person and she tucked her hair behind her ears.
"I would ask you what you're doing here, but we don't play that game, so let's just go back and pretend to be helpless little hostages until we can get out of here, okay?" She smiled at him and walked past him back into the main room.
