AN: This is just a one-shot, but I'm planning on writing another full Kili/Tauriel story. Please review!
"Could she have ever loved me?" Kili's hand searched for Tauriel's, and he gripped it tightly when he found it. Tauriel stared down at the young dwarf, tears in her eyes. She did love him. She didn't know why, or how, but she knew that she loved him. With all her heart. Who cares what everyone will think? Love knows no bounds.
Kili opened his eyes to look at the elf, and stared in awe. Starlight twinkled in her eyes, and it looked as if she were surrounded by the light of the moon, and the mist of an ocean. Her fair skin glowed with the light of the sun, and her body flickered in and out of his focus like a candle. Tauriel smiled, and leaned her head down. She brushed her lips against Kili's, and he closed his eyes again. She sealed her mouth over his in a kiss so gentle that Kili could have wept. Her tears slid down her face and onto the dwarf's, and they felt like the tears of an angel. Kili returned the kiss with a tenderness that surprised Tauriel. His lips were soft and warm, and as she was granted access into his mouth, it was like discovering the universe. She knew she never wanted to kiss anyone else again. Kili ran his tongue across her lower lip, sending a shiver down her spine. He sat up so that she wasn't completely on top of him, and held her face in his hands. Her heart thudded against her chest, and she cried with indecision. Love is the heart afraid of dying, that never learns to live. Tauriel's heart had never learned to live, and living now was as beautiful as it was terrifying. Not only did she not want to hurt herself, but she also didn't want to hurt Kili. She cared for him too much, and if she wasn't lying to herself, she truly loved him. Kili loved her, too, and she knew it. She broke the kiss, and looked him in the eyes. He looked hurt and confused, he looked so sad. But looking into his eyes was like staring into a mirror. Kili held her hand and looked at her questioningly.
"What's wrong?" She didn't say anything at first, but stared down at the floor. Then she smiled and looked up at him.
"Nothing's wrong. Because I love you." Kili grinned, and squeezed her hand. Tauriel smiled back, and she squeezed his hand just a little bit tighter.
