The hallways of the ShinRa building were quiet and empty. Two figures, dressed in black, crept through the deserted corridors, all senses alert. Bright eyes, different shades of blue, peered carefully around corners, and two sets of ears listened for the slightest hint of voices, noses seeking the faint scents of their targets.

They moved silently, communicating by hand and arm signals. They didn't dare make a sound, lest their targets hear as they moved closer. If they could have gotten away with it, they would have been wearing socks and no boots, to prevent their heavy soles from making any sound on the tiles of the building.

After clearing the floor they were on, they moved quickly into the stairwell, heading down to the balcony above the lobby.

The smaller of the two moved through the doorway first, shifting into a stalking crouch to ease up to the edge of the balcony. The other followed suit, peering over the edge. Targets acquired. The duo looked over at each other, matching evil grins on their faces. Reno gave a thumbs up.

They backed up quietly, counted silently to three, and dashed forward, bounding up onto and then over the balcony without a sound. Their targets didn't stand a chance.

It was President's Day, and the lobby was full of high-ranking executives and dignitaries. The Turks and Soldiers were required to show their presence, but neither group wanted to be there. As a result, they had quickly gravitated towards each other and now stood right where Reno and Zack had anticipated: just below the balcony, where they could make a break for the stairs and the safety of their offices as soon as the opportunity presented itself. As luck would have it, Sephiroth and Rude wound up standing side by side.

Zack and Reno grinned as they soared through the air. They would never even see it coming!

They were halfway there when Sephiroth stepped smoothly to the side, pulling Rude aside with him. It was far, far too late to change their trajectory, and Seph's cruel smirk was so large they could practically feel it.

Rude looked around, confused, before he caught sight of Zack and Reno, identical panicked looks on their faces and arms and legs flailing as they realized that there was no longer anyone in the way to break their fall. He sighed, shook his head, and turned away in a vain attempt to distance himself from the chaos that was about to ensue. Right on cue, the various high-ranking executives and dignitaries who filled the lobby spotted the pair of troublemakers falling through the air.

Reno had to admit, the panicked squeals of the executives and dignitaries almost made leaping off a balcony and landing face-first on the cold marble worth it. Almost.

Short little drabble based on a commission that Ecthelian on dA drew for me :) link is here: ecthelian . deviantart . com /art/ Here-We-Go-116868752 (remove the spaces)

Normally I'd make a comment about grammar and spelling, but this was purely for fun, so unless there's something that's completely ruining it for everyone, I'm not too concerned :p Cheers guys :)
