It was an awful feeling, in the pit of her heart. She regretted everything she ever did, tapping her hands against the cold Echo recorder. Gaige's gaze turned to the outside of the ship, seeing nothing but black space and brightly coloured planets in the distance. In the corner, she could see Pandora. The ship began to shake, bringing multiple screams from the people on board. Her hand moved, summoning DT back into her arm as she braced herself. And then everything went black.
Her senses seemed to be coming back. There was a soft crackiling, much like a fire. She also felt almost numb, her body freezing. The warmth of the fire began to reach her as she let out a soft grumble. Her eyes slowly drew open and adjusted to the dim light.
Gaige's heart almost skipped a beat at the sight. She was curled up in a man's lap; she assumed a man, and he was staring intently at her. Or, at least looked like he was staring at her. He wore a helmet, with a black visor sort of thing in the front. Something had been projected in front a few seconds ago, but didn't get a good look at it.
"Ah, you are up now./Are you too cold or too warm?/Please, do not be scared."
A filtered voice spoke out. His grip grew gentle as he pushed her up. With the confused expression on her face, he knew he had some explaining to do.
"…Zero."
His voice grew somewhat softer as he pushed some of her matted hair out of the way, checking a new wound.
Gaige stared at him confused. Her mouth opened to question the man, but he held up a finger to her lips, silencing.
"Zero, is my name. "
Gaige took this into thought. Zero? What an odd name. He pushed her hair back, fixing the bear themed had upon her head.
"..G..Gaige."
Her throat hurt, and she could barely speak. His face lit up with "…" a few seconds before lighting up with "3"
"Nice to meet you,Gaige./Please, remain here for right now./Others will return."
"O-Okay..could..could you speak-"
Her speech was cut off with a cough, leaving little red dots in her hand.
"Normally?" he inquired, reaching over with his free hand, wiping the blood dripping from her mouth.
"Y-Yeah.." Her expression softened as they both heard a different voice. It was from a woman, obviously much older. She sounded as though there was much pain that was seen in her eyes.
"Zer0, we gotta get moving. The fast travel stations won't work, so we'll have to run her over."
