Chapter 1: He

He glanced out of the window. He could imagine his new neighbors, busy with their daily lives. It often calms him to think of them, the loving newly weds, and how he would be too. He had known him since their schooling days, long enough to be sure of that. They would be happy together. Eyes misting, he thought of the days that they had spent together…

They were standing in the park, watching the sakura flowers. A sudden breeze blew the beautiful petals high up in the sky, swirling them around as they descended. He had loved the delicate flowers. He was there, enjoying himself. With an occasional glance back at his lover, seeing that he was happy too, he was contented.

… and the fated day they had to part.

She just appeared suddenly, just out of the blue. She was beautiful, perhaps the most beautiful lady he had ever set his eyes on. One glance at her told him: he had to leave. He had seen it in his lover's eyes, he had seen it in his dreams. It was inevitable. Since fighting over this would only result in someone getting hurt, and all three parties getting heartbreaks, he chose the only option he had. He packed up that night and left.

He had left no message, no nothing, and he never looked back. It would hurt him too much, but he wished with all his heart that they would be happy. He had seen them together, and knew they were happy. After all, he had loved him. No matter what the cost, no matter what it takes, no matter what the sacrifice, just as long as his love is happy, he would do what he had to. Isn't this what love is all about, the unconditional giving, wishing the other all the bast, without expecting anything in return?

This is a very short first chapter. Reviews are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
