Mistake
A Degrassi Story
It was just another ordinary day at Degrassi. The halls were filled with loud, rowdy teenagers and the principal's office was filled with troublemakers. In Mr. Simpsons room, students were busy taking a big test including Emma Nelson and Manny Santos.
Ring, ring. The fire alarms went off in an instant. Emma sighed, another fire drill. The students of Degrassi all lined up outside and watched the school as students and teachers scattered outside. Paige Michalchuk and Alex Nunez, long time enemies of Emma awaited outside. Alex smirked at Paige and then they walked over to Emma. Emma just gave them a dirty look and turned around. Paige and Alex weren't satisfied with just annoying her.
"What is your problem?!' Emma asked, steaming inside. Why couldn't they just leave her alone? Ever since the seventh grade Paige has hated Emma. And one day by the lockers Emma and Alex go into a physical fight costing them both the rest of the day.
"Um nothing hun we just don't like you" Paige smirked. She always thought that she was better than everyone else.
Emma just rolled her eyes. She wasn't in the mood to pick a fight with these girls. Obviously they have troubles with life and they just want to make Emma annoyed and miserable. Paige laughed and said okay. What? Emma thought.
Paige and Alex took Emma by the arm and pushed her down a nearby sewer. Screaming, Emma bumped her head into a pipeline. Manny ran over to the sewer to see if her best friend was alright. Emma was nowhere to be found…
Twenty minutes later sewer technicians had come to try to find her. They recovered her body after an hour of looking. She has been pronounced dead that very day. When Manny had found out the news she cried deeply, missing her best friend she had known since preschool. Manny had accused Paige and Alex for killing Emma but they had just lied and said she fell. Emma's parents and Manny decided to take the girls to court but ended up losing. Emma was gone forever all because of Paige and Alex and they didn't even get in one spec of trouble for it.
That night Paige lay in bed upset for what she did. She regretted everything she had done. Why had she listened to Alex? Alex was the real troublemaker who's been suspended many times. Paige cried. She had murdered Emma and there's no bringing her back. Emma had showed up minutes later at Paige's bedside with a knife and slashed Paige. The same had been done to Alex. No one knew exactly what happened to the girls but police blamed it on murder. From that night on, Emma Nelson haunted the halls of Degrassi for the rest of eternity.
