A/N: So, I was on vacation and did not tell anyone so, yeah. And I feel bad because I did not do any new one-shots. I promised myself that I would write either at least three one-shots, a three-shots, or three new chapters in a multi-chap. Instead, I did one one-shot, and three chapters to my new CA fic Since We Were Small. So please forgive me!

The missing scene from the last bar scene of "Half A World Away." Literally a "director's cut" scene! I do ship A-squared, but this is more a friendship thing. It can be both if you want it to be! Enjoy!

"So now you know what happened to my unit," Auggie said.

"Thanks for telling me," Annie replied.

Silence hung in the air.

"Hey Auggie. Can I ask you a question?" Annie asked, suddenly solemn.

"I don't say goodbye because whenever I do, it's a permanent thing," Auggie admitted.

"What do you mean?" she asked, suddenly confused by Auggie's words.

"I've said goodbye to a few people. And I've either never seem or spoken to them again," he explained.

"Like who? I don't mean to sound insensitive when I say this. But really, who?"

"I said goodbye to Tash a couple of years ago. It was only supposed to be for a few hours. But I never did see her again. I said goodbye to Liza. I haven't spoken to her since. I said goodbye to my Special Forces unit. And you know what happened to them," Auggie explained, his voice rising slightly.

"Okay, I get it. You've lost a lot of people in your life. But saying goodbye doesn't mean you'll never see someone again."

"In my case, it does. I refuse to say goodbye Annie. Especially to you, my best friend. I only said it that one time because I thought I might not get my revenge and manage to make it off that plane alive."

"Aug..." Annie began. But for once, she couldn't find the right words to say.

"It's something that's never going to change about me, Annie. It's like training: You learn it and you never forget it," Auggie said in a firm tone.

Annie just sat there and stared at her best friend. "Um…alright then. I get it,

Aug. 'Goodbye' is not a word in your vocabulary."

Silence hung in the air as the pair sipped their drinks.

"Not even for a phone call?" Annie said with a grin.

Auggie chuckled. "Everyone says it. All the more reason not to." He flashed

Annie his trademark, lopsided smile.

They laughed for awhile, just letting the week melt away in their beers.

"You up for another round?" Auggie asked.

"Oh definitely." Annie said. She signaled to the waitress for a new round.

The week was over; Auggie was avenged and alive. Pretty much at least.
