Watching Your Back

Sauukes gone. But narutos still right there to always watch his back.-Even though its already gone. one swear word. other than that, clean. could be taken as friendship or whatever you want. angsty, warped friendship was what I had in mind but,whatever.

I remember once, on our last major mission before you left us for him,you drug me into an old shed to talk. " watch my back," you said. "watch my back Naruto."

You said it jokingly, but, I could tell you meant it. I could see the seriousness shining through your "I-Don`t-Give-A-Damn" facade. why you said that, at the time I didn't know. Now I do... but... Its a little too late. I always was a bit slow on the uptake, huh?

Did you ever notice how I yelled at everyone else when They called me a dobe? Never to you though. Not really. I would pretend I hated it, but from you it didn't really mean, well, dobe. It was your way of saying you cared,
no matter how little that was.

And, I never did tell you, but I did notice something about you, well, many things, but this one in particular. I was the only one you called by something but their real name on a regular basis. From you, the insult "dobe" was a nickname, Like how I called you Teme.

You know, even though you broke your promise that you made to always watch my back, I still smile when I remember that you even made it in the first place. And, Sasuke? one last thing. I'm still watching your back you know. Because no one else will.

I still watch even when its walking further and further away from me.
