There were three days until the day of the big school dance at four nations high. All the students could hardly wait, especially Aang and Katara. They knew they both wanted to ask each other out to the dance….

3 days later….

Today was the day. As Katara went into the gym, (that's where the dance was held) her eyes went wide. It looked like a magical land. There were special lights to make the ceiling look different colors, and there was balloons hanging everywhere. Katara then saw Jet running toward her as though he had been looking for her for hours.

"Will you dance with me?" he asked

"Um….I don't know, Jet….I don't trust you."

"Please?" Katara sighed.

"Fine. But only for five minutes."

Dancing with Jet was disgusting for Katara. He kept touching her butt, and one of the chaperones saw and pulled Jet away. Thank goodness! Katara thought.

Next she saw Zuko.

"Will you dance with me?"

"I'm really sorry, but no thanks."

At last she saw him. Dancing with another girl. The girl was Meng. Aang looked at Katara as if to say, 'Help!' but Katara just shrugged. So she waited and waited until finally the song was over. She ran up to Aang and, before she lost her nerve,

"Will you dance with me?" Aang smiled.

"I'd thought you'd never ask." He put his arms on he waist while Katara took his hand. They gazed into each other's eyes as a slow song came on.

There you see her
Sitting there across the way
She don't got a lot to say
But there's something about her

The song pressured Aang. He wanted to kiss Katara more than anything, but he was to shy.

Aang began to get tense. He squeezed Katara's hands until she whimpered.

"Oh! Sorry." Aang said,

"Relax."

"Let's go outside. I need some fresh air."

"OK." They could still hear the DJ blaring.

Now's your moment
Floating in a blue lagoon
Boy, you better do it soon
the time will be better
She don't say a word
And she wont say a word
until you kiss the girl

They gazed up at the stars. Aang couldn't take it anymore. He turned to Katara and said

"Katara?" Katara looked at him with her azure eyes.

"Yeah?" Aang paused. Aang, you can do this now or never. He thought. He leaned close to her and kissed her soft lips. And to his great surprise, Katara seemed to enjoy it.
