The small 8 year old boy stood in front of a class of 12 year olds, his superiors. He took a deep breath to calm himself. He had only been in the Academy for almost two years and the kids his own age were just starting in their own beginners class. He was lucky to be in this class and even more lucky to be allowed to take the test early. The test to become a full fledged Shinobi. Most students had to take the full four years of schooling and still some didn't pass the Genin test. Lucky ones were able to take it in three years. His attempt would be suicide for most. But he wasn't just anybody. He was getting the rep of being the best unpredictable ninja in Academy.
Naruto took a deep breath and began the last portion of his test. The Jutsu examination……

Many congratulations were heard throughout the schoolyard. Proud parents hugged and showered the new Genin with praise while those who didn't pass were consoling each other. All this was going on and no one noticed the little blonde boy in the darkened corner of the courtyard, hands clenched behind him around something and a small smirk growing on his face.

"…..I congratulate all those who have passed the Genin tests this year. Now, I will announce the teams." A man stood in front of a room of children, a scar along his nose and his hair pulled high on his head. As he announced the teams, there were yays and boos coming form the children. "…Team 8 will be Aburame Shino, Inuzuka Kiba, and Hyuuga Hinata. You sensei is Yuuhi Kurenai. Team 9 is still in circulation from last year. Team 10 is Nara Shikamaru, Akimichi Choji ,and Yamanaka Ino. Your sensei is Asuma. Now, I have saved Team 7 for last on purpose. Team 7 is Haruno Sakura and Uchiha Sasuke. Your sensei is Hatake Kakashi and you last teammate is coming from the reserve lists and will meet you here later. Now, all of you are dismissed for lunch."
All the teams split together and soon all the teams had been picked up by their sensei's except for Team 7. They were also waiting for their last teammate. Sasuke was being the broody teme that he always was while Sakura was chattering away.
"I can't believe that they are giving us a reserve Genin. What kind of stupid idiot get themselves placed on the reserves?!" Sakura was saying just as the door moved and a hand appeared in the door.
"Hello? Is this the right classroom? The one where Team 7 is?"
