Serylia's POV

Everything was dark. A cold steely silence penetrated the very essence of the dream. A small girl was walking slowly towards me. I saw her small and tender face rise up to meet my eyes. Her dark eyes seem to look into my very soul and read my every thought. All that came out of her mouth, though, was "Hello, Serylia.". She smiled and everything went blank.

I woke up to see the same old room I had lived in for the past 17 years of my life. I couldn't remember the last time I had seen people in here. But why would anyone come here, now?, I thought. The room was filled with broken furniture and everything was stained black with dirt. A lone rag doll sat in the corner of my makeshift bed. I grabbed it and held it tight to my mud caked face. The clothing was ripped and tattered, resembling me in so many ways. Covered with dust, the paint was fading away. I could barely make out the small red smile on the doll's face. It reminded of the girl in my dream. I don't remember how I got her, but now she was my best friend. No one came near where I was living. I suddenly felt something wet roll across my cheek. I rubbed my hand over it and realized it had come from my eyes. No one had ever told me how water had come from my eyes, but I remembered what a man had told me long ago.

"Don't cry my dear. Don't cry or they will hear you.."

Why was I crying?

Lavi's POV

Bookman and I were walking down the hall of the Black Order towards the library. I looked down to see a troubled look on his face. Without thinking, I asked "What's wrong old panda?"

He was silent for a moment but he responded with a low voice.

" Just thinking about this war.."

Bookman's voice trailed off. He must've been so deep in thought to not have the urge to smack me. Especially when I just called him by his OTHER name. Suddenly, I heard loud footsteps coming closer. As I saw the figure come closer, I realized it was a Finder. He was panting heavily.

"E-E-exor-orcist *huff* sama!" the Finder said exasperatedly.

"What is it? What's the matter?" I asked quickly.

Bookman looked up to see what was the matter.

"It's.. It's the American Branch! They're under attack! *huff* There are reports coming in *huff* that *huff* it may the Millennium Earl, himself! Please *huff* come *huff* quickly!" panted the Finder.

He had a look of distress on his face that only meant the real thing. This war was getting worse and everyone in the Order knew it was only time before the Earl attacked. The only reason was why?

"We must go to the ark, Lavi." responded Bookman. He was as calm as I had ever seen him.

"Okay." I nodded.

As Bookman and I ran down the hall, I yelled a thank you to the finder.

This just couldn't get any better, could it?
