Peace,
finally the war is over,
I no longer have to hear the scream of pain,
erupting from a friends throat,
who has been brutally killed,
at the hands of this war.

I am free of the burden,
that I have been pushed to learn,
to kill, destroy, torture,
now my spirit has been cleaned of blood,
cleansed.

I will kill no longer,
only nurture, teach, heal,
I have been forgiven.
Though I will forever hear the screams,
but to truly forgive myself,
I will help others,
to save me from the cries,
that haunt me in every dream,
to be forgiven from those I have killed,
I pledge,
to never harm another living soul,
ever again.
