Ginger yawned and stretched on the empty hospital bed. Dei was up and about, his mostly-healed arm hanging in a sling. He wouldn't be released for a week yet but that didn't prevent him from a good time. He opened the door and exited, Ginger hot on his heels.
He was friends in with most of the nurses and patients in the vicinity, a habit of his. Although his arm was still basically unmovable, he did use his good one to wave to those he knew, which weren't much as it was early.
He sat down in the lobby. To a passing nurse he shouted, "I'm ready to go home now, un."
"What?"
"I wanna go home now. My arm is good, un." He cradled Ginger in his arms.
"Not until your doctor OK's it." the nurse started.
"Crap… Is anyone visiting today? I'm lonely.."
"Dunno. Go entertain yourself," the nurse hurried down the hall, leaving Dei to stare at the lobby fishtank, making funny faces at the strange fish.
"Hey," someone said. Deidara jumped to his feet and met gazes with Sasori.
"Hi, uhh, uhm…" Dei started, now staring straight ahead. Sasori hadn't been in the hospital for about a week now and it was certainly a surprise.
Sasori had a dazed look on his face. "Huh?" he said. Dei realized. The redhead was spooked by the fact that his partner, who he had seen in pain five or six days earlier, was up and running around the place. "You're a fast healer," he stated blindly, "didn't expect to you see you until I got to your room."
"I went to bed early last night… bored… But anyways, how's everyone back at the hideout, un?"
"We're fine… Hidan ate a quarter," he said laughing.
"I missed it? Un?" Dei pouted.
"Yeah, then Kakuzu punched his stomach so hard he threw it back up… It was quite a sight…" Sasori really was laughing now. He looked up and saw Deidara waaaay up ahead.
"Are you coming, un?" he said sweetly. Sasori ran up to him.
"You sure to move fast for being injured like that," he commented. "Where'd you get that cat?" He saw Ginger.
"Itachi gave her to me," he was walking backward now, "Sasori-kun! Wanna see my new room? They moved me. Now I share it with a 'Sasuke Uchiha', un. Itachi doesn't visit me anymore though…"
"Sure…" Sasori said, not really listening.
"Here we are, un!" Dei shouted, opening a door. Inside was Sasuke, sitting up in bed and watching television. He yawned.
"Morning," he mumbled before turning to the news.
"Dude, wanna see my arm, un? It looks like Kakuzu's-" he began to pull it out of the sling.
"Don't Dei, you'll hurt yourself…"
"But it's so COOL, un!"
"I know what it looks like!"
"I'm showing you anyway, un!"
"I told you! Besides, Kakuzu was the one who stitched it up! I'm the one that kept insisting on the hospital idea-" he clapped his hands over his mouth and ran out the door.
"What's wrong with him?" Deidara looked at Sasuke, who was taking some ibuprofen. He shrugged.
Deidara sat on his own bed, Ginger in his lap. Sasuke got out of his own. He had a broken leg and Dei could see two wounds on his back.
"I'm getting breakfast…" he said, grabbing a pair of crutches, "wanna come with?"
