Cinderpelt woke up, Frost glistening on the trees. She breathed up scents of the new day, but a sudden pain lurched in her stomache, she collapsed on her paws as she tried to get up. Whats wrong with me today? Perhaps I just need to clear my mind and collect some herbs. She thought. She tried getting up again, yet the pain continued, Yet she made it to her paws as She padded out. She looked around, only to See The Great Firestar kneading his paws into the ground as if something was troubling him. Cinderpelt frowned, and walked over to him. "Are you Okay?" she questioned. "I suppose, its just...Leafkit doesn't fit in, well, to me she does, but Leafkit seems to doubt herself." The handsome flame tom meowed. "Well, let me check up on her in the medicine den, bring her to me." The cinder she-cat smiled. "Were you planning to do something?" Firestar asked. "I was just going to collect herbs, we are almost out of Burdock Root, not that there has been many infections latley, but that can wait." She purred. "Oh, thank you, it means alot." Firestar purred back, and with that, Cinderpelt disapppeared into her den. She waited a few moments before Firestar padded in, and set down Leafkit. "So, is there any thing that could have caused her to feel bad about herself?" meowed Cinderpelt. "Well, the only thing I could think of is the fact she opened her eyes almost a week early." The tom meowed a tint of worry in his voice. Cinderpelt nodded, remembering checking up on the kit then, luckily no sign of infection was caught. "Well, that could be a sign that she is special, go ahead and tend to your leader buisness, I will give her a look." she meowed gently. Firestar licked her ear and darted out. Leafkit looked up at Cinderpelt with big gentle eyes. Leafkit sniffed at herbs, she picked up catmint and sniffed at it. Cinderpelt smiled and watched the kit. "So you feel diffrent, huh? Its not a bad thing, truly." she meowed. Leafkit smiled. "I-I guess its not." The kit squeaked shyly. "You might even have a gift." Cinderpelt meowed.
Firestar padded in the medicine den, it was the middle of the day, everything fine. "I was thinking Cinderpelt, you always felt you didn't fit it when you got hit by that monster, you were never the same." the leader dared bring up the thing that ruined her future as a warrior, yet he didn't look like he meant to. "Well, Leafkit feels the same, and you have been searching for an apprentice ever since you tripped over that stick while collecting herbs, and hurting that leg even more, so what if when Leafkits old enough, she becomes your apprentice, it's just a thought." Firestar purred. "Oh, thats...a great idea!" Cinderpelt agreed. You let his good looks get you again, you should have just said this is your choice. Cinderpelt thought. Yet Cinderpelt looked at Leafkit longingly, wishing that was her kit, and Firestar was with her. "Sandstorm wants me to bring back Leafkit, its time her and her sister Squirrelkit get some rest, good bye." The leader bowed as he grabbed Leafkit and padded out.
