I'll have a blue Christmas Without You
The Yule Log was on TV and Christmas music rang through the apartment. She drank some hot chocolate and started at the stocking and tree, all decorated in blue. The apartment shone, shinny gold, red, and blue twinkled on ever surface, reflecting the dim light of the apartment. Out side the window, snow had begun to fall, still white before hitting the ground and turning into gray city slush. When he was little he thought the snowflakes were bits of the clouds falling. She laughed then, the memory made her sad now.
They couldn't do anything they use to this year. They couldn't go see the tree and the ice skaters and then walk around Central Park until his complaining became too much.
It was the one night a year where they could get away from Gabe without him worrying.
This was their first Christmas as a family; her, him, and Paul.
But Sally's baby wasn't coming home for Christmas, and she couldn't do anything. All she could do was hope, drink hot chocolate, and stare at his ornament he made in Kindergarten. The one made out of Popsicle stick and glitter. It had his picture on it, one with him smiling so big his mouth took up most of his face, and his two front teeth were missing. He knew she love the ornament to so much that it wasn't even embarrassing.
He wasn't perfect. As far sons go, but damnit, to her, he was close. And this year was suppose to be the perfect Christmas with her almost perfect son, her almost perfect husband, her almost perfect job, and her almost perfect instant hot chocolate.
But it wasn't going to be perfect. So Sally got up and went over to the kitchen sink and poured her drink down the drain, along with any chance of a perfect Christmas.
Gods, she missed her son.
I know everyone and his or her mother does Christmas one-shots, but I wanted to write one too. I was watching glee and thought this song fit Percy and Annabeth, then thought of Sally, so it became this. It was a really sad way to start, but I promise it will get happier and there will be a Hanukkah chapter. There may be jokes about religion and actual religious stuff, please do not use this as an opportunity to debate! OC are going to be use but you cannot submit your own because I will not use them, I'm just not going to.
