Elemental Beginnings
Chapter 1- Deux
Deux sat on the ground crying. She was crying because of her mom's boyfriend. Deux hated him. He made her miserable and sorry for just being born. He would always say things to her mother like, "Honey, Deux and I are going to go get some cigarettes, alright? We'll be back a while later" or "Emery, I'm going to spend a wonderful day with Deux at the park. We'll have lunch over there and be back later." He always lied to her ever trusting ever loving mother. She would believe almost anything that was said by the man that was courting her. That wasn't even the worst part about him.
He did something to her when they went out together or were left alone with each other or with his friends. I can only describe it to you with one word: horrible. It can tell you it was so horrible, there is only one word for it: rape. He, the boyfriend, told Deux that if she told her mother or any other authority figure, he would kill her mother, sisters, and rest of her family and then after he made her watch him do that, he would torture her then kill her. She always knew what to say to him, "No, I won't tell anyone, master." She always snickered in her mind. Master? Weren't all her betters masters, teachers, mom, dad, relatives. Masters? Boy, seven year olds had many masters.
Yes, Deux was seven years old. She didn't think she was seven but was every time she looked in the mirror, a young girl staring back at her. She felt like she was one hundred with all the pain, suffering, and greif she had to endure day after day. She predicted she wouldn't live past ten if this kept up. Deux suddenly had an idea. She wiped her tears away with the back of her hand. She could devisea wonderful plan with her sisters' help and get that brute out of the house. She sneaked through the back door of the one story house to tell her siblings.
