Mike sat watching Kate sleep wondering how this had happened. He didn't want to ruin her career that had barley even started. Mike stood up and walked into the kitchen. Afer one last look around the appartment he walked out the door closing it gently so he didn't wake her up.
Kate woke up to find no trace of Mike any where only a simple note with six words on it. IT was the note that gave her the strength to finish at ADFA then the Navy, no matter how much she missed him.
Mike
looked at Kate, the XO of his ship the HMAS Hammersley, he was happy
that her career moved forward.
Kate stood in the bridge looking
out the window, his note from five years ago held in her
hands.
"What's with the paper," Nav asked.
Kate
looked down at the paper.
"My reason to continue," Kate
smiled.
Nav nodded more confused than she had been before.
Mike
let out a sigh, he knew what paper it was. Nav left the bridge
mentioning coffee.
"I'm glad it gives you strenght,"
Mike said.
"You care to much," Kate replied.
Kate put
the paper back in her pocket.
"ONly about you Katie,"
Mike smiled before Nav returned.
Kate couldn't help the grin on
her face. He had cared five years ago, he cared now. One thought went
though both Mike and Kate's head.
'Maybe there's hope for a
future.'
