The Creeps and Freaks

"Hey, awesome costume man! Where did you get it?"

The man pauses, looks at the college student dressed up in a back and white tuxedo, half of a drooping mask stuck to his face. "What, this old thing?" The man questions, pulling at the lapels on his own suit. A cackle bubbles from his throat, "Why it's custom made!"

"Wicked man! All you need is a Harley!"

"Oh Mistah J! There you are! I've been looking all ovah town for ya! I kept running into these bozo's dressed up like you! Don't know how many girls I had to smack away just incase you couldn't recognize you're dear old Harley!" The student paled and backed up slowly before turning around and all out sprinting away from the maniac.

"Harley m'dear! There you are! I just ran into our old friend Two-Face!" He grinned widely, "What do you say we go and find a couple of our fans and have a little fun, hmmm?"

The blonde in costume giggled, eager at the idea and hopped after her beau.

Batman crouched atop a high building and looked down over his city. Just like any other night of the year, Gotham was bustling. Only this night was different-this night was Halloween. Batman resisted the urge to sigh and pinch the bridge of his nose. Halloween was his least favorite holiday. People loved to dress up as their favorite superheroes and villains and it seemed like all the villains made sure they would escape or be paroled by Hallows Eve.

There was a whooshing sound and a childish giggle. Batman didn't need to turn his head to see who the familiar presence belonged to.

"Man, you won't believe how many people are dressed up this year! It's pretty awesome-kinda sucks though given how many people choose to do crime tonight." It made their job a little more difficult, especially when someone gave the response: it was the Joker, Two-Face, Penguin, Scarecrow, etc. etc. It wasn't easy finding the right one (or even if the real one did the deed to begin with) or stopping impersonators from getting whacked by the less than enthused villainous population.

Batman narrowed his eyes as he looked up from inspecting a few of the darker alleyways. There in the sky the bat symbol was lit like a beacon. He pulled out his grappling gun.

Robin beside him grinned, "Well, time to work! Alfred better have some candy left over from those trick or treaters!"
