So I decided to rewrite the chapters that I uploaded so far and approach it from a different perspective. I hope you will find it more enjoyable this way.
Still, my mother language is not English, but I hope it is not too disturbing. :)
Please review! :)
oOo
I needed to run faster.
I knew I was breaking branches and I was making an awful lot of noise with my crazy race, but I didn't care. I would tear the whole forest apart if I had to. It was dark, I could barely see anything but that awful smell lead the way quite easily. I knew it was blood, but I didn't recognize it somehow. It wasn't human.
I heard someone shouting my name from behind, but I ignored it, hoping they will be able to follow me. I just couldn't wait for them to catch up.
The moonlight flashed the trees finally and I could see better. I had a feeling the moon was helping me, showing me the way, casting light towards my destination, to him.
I didn't know how much time I had, I could only hope that I would reach him in time. I heard his screams then and it gave me shivers. Some strange kind of relief rushed through me, because I knew he was still alive, but I knew it wouldn't last.
When I finally found him, he was on his knees and he hung his head between his legs, his hands in fists, pressed in the dirt. There was a huge pool of blood around him. I felt like throwing up and getting hysterical, but I didn't have time for that. I ran to him and grabbed him from behind, my hands on his chest and tried to straighten him up. When I finally could I saw his face covered in blood, his eyes were white and cloudy like dead people's, and his hair started to turn grey. He was quiet now but there were choking sounds coming from his throat, like he was trying to cough something up. I grabbed his shoulder and I tried to position him so I could take a better look, but I realized that his skin crumbled under my fingers. I looked at it, and saw that parts of his body slowly started to turn to ash.
And I screamed.
