A/N OMG I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this show!, I just started watching it on Sunday and it's tues and I'm almost done with season 2 XD. I love the bonding and the relationship with Big Jim and Barbie. I really don't like Julia much, I have no problem who likes her it's just the romance seems a bit forced just because they want romance. I would rather see Big Jim and Barbie together TBH haha but that's the Yaoi side of me.

Anyway I hope you enjoy this fic, there might be Big Jim and Barbie pairing. Not sure yet.

Barbie's eyes gazed at Julia who was getting help from Paulina and Rebecca they were patching up her wound, luckily she was doing better. Though she had caught a fever, he was pretty sure he was running one as well. But that's not what mattered, protecting the Monarch is what matter. He closed his eyes, he knew he was harboring a big secret from everyone. He knew it was wrong, but it was critical to the Mission that they don't know till the time is right.

He scrubbed his hand over his face tiredly blinking when he felt a warm blanket wrap around his shoulders, eye's glancing up much to his surprise it was Big Jim. What was even more surprising was the concern look in the man's eyes. It wasn't often that he had that look, although to be frank Big Jim had come through more than one time recently. He had gotten the generator back on leaving a lot of people saved.

"You did good Barbie". Big Jim muttered his voice uncharacteristically low. "You saved Julia though I couldn't expect any less from you". He huffed a small smirk crossing his features. "You always seem to come through for us. You know". Big Jim took a seat eye's watching Paulina and Junior. "When I heard you were dead, I must admit it had me panicked". He tilted his head at Barbie. "We may have had our differences and not always gotten along, but you're always there to save the day. Your there when it counts, and I have to admit when I found out you died. It scared me".

"Why?" Barbie said hoarsely pulling the blanket closer, never taking his eyes off of Big Jim.

"I've had a lot of things in my life, even more so now that we have the dome. Appreciation for it. When I went to sacrifice myself my life flashed before my eyes, leaving me to see just how much pain and wrong choices I did. I've always tried to protect this town, tried to do the right thing. It may not seem like it all the time, I threw the Egg only because my wife was screaming in pain. I never expected this". He gestured towards everything around him. "To happen, I was only trying to protect my family. Now I see I've been wrong. About a lot of things". Big Jim gazed at Barbie intensely. "Including you".

Big Jim rested his hand on Barbie's knee, and while Barbie would think it would be uncomfortable it was a comforting weight on his cold body.

"I'm sorry Barbie, for everything. Sending a Mob after you, lying about the Murders, Julia, always almost gaining your trust but then screwing it up, everything". Big Jim pulled back scrubbing a hand on his face. "I've done a lot of things I'm not proud of, but that's going to change. I'm going to be a better man, listen to you lot more. Obviously your group knows more than I do, I trust you Barbie I trust you and your lot to save us".

Barbie for once was a loss for words, the raw emotions on Big Jim's face, the exhaustion the guilt. He had never seen on the man before, he knew the moment he looked into the older man's eye's the man was telling the truth.

"You're not the only one who needs to apologize". Barbie shifted getting into a more comfortable position, "if I hadn't antagonized you as much as I did, maybe we would've gotten along better". His frame shook as a let out a couple of wet coughs.

"That doesn't sound to good Barbie". Big Jim muttered putting his hand to the younger man's forehead. "You're burning up, why didn't you tell anyone you were sick?"

"They needed to tend to Julia". Barbie mumbled allowing Big Jim to wrap an arm around his frame before he fell over.

"Well someone needs to tend to you to". Big Jim sighed he gently helped Barbie up not taking his arm from around him leading him to an empty bed. It was father away from the rest of his group, which Big Jim was grateful for, he knew Barbie didn't want them seeing him like this.

He settled down next to Barbie shrugging his jacket off draping it over the younger man's shivering frame, making sure the jacket was situated around the man's body Big Jim gently placed his hand on Barbie's forehead rubbing it soothingly.

"Get some sleep". Big Jim soothed. "I'm not going anywhere, your safe".

Out of the weeks, months he wasn't sure how long they'd been there this was the first time he truly felt safe, and Big Jim's surprisingly soothing tone did wonders to his headache. It was ironic really, the man who caused him the most grief, trouble and pain was the one he felt the first time safe with. But wasn't that just Big Jim? Selfish but selfless when it mattered.

Barbie wasn't sure why he did it, to this day he wasn't. But he felt himself moving until he laid comfortable in Big Jim's lap, his head pillowed by the man's knee. He felt the older man stiffen but didn't think anything of it as he drifted off to sleep.

Big Jim's usual hard eye's filled with tears as he dropped a hand into Barbie's hair running his fingers soothingly through it, he knew he had to have an amount of trust from Barbie to have him comfortable enough to lay like this. He would treasure it, never let it go again. He was going to change, he wouldn't let Barbie and his lot down again, he cared about the kid. More than he liked to admit.

He would make sure Barbie, his lot and his family would get out of the dome. Even if it killed him.
