Hey guys, I'm kinda new at this and this is like my third story ever so I definitely appreciate constructive criticism but please no flames, I'm already aware that I'm not much of a writer. This story follows the plot of the movie with the following changes: Jack is 19, blind, and married (OC). If you don't like OC, don't read but I hope everyone enjoys the story!
Disclaimer: Only the OC character and some ideas are mine. The plot, characters and cover image belong to Dreamworks!
Jack's POV
The first thing I noticed was the darkness. It was surrounding me and then I began to move. Slowly, at first, rising from the harsh unforgiving waters that I, for the life of me, could not remember entering. I waited, yearned for, anticipated the brightness escaping the water would bring but when I was fully released from the water, everything was still dark. I waited, floating above water I'm sure should be freezing but it had just felt normal to me. Suddenly, a voice filled my mind. It was serene and magnificent and held an ancient power that left me stunned.
"Your name is Jack Frost", was all the voice said before it faded away, leaving me standing alone and once again, completely consumed by darkness. I slowly began to walk forward not even registering that my feet were bare on the ice. As I walked my foot bumped against something, sending me hard to the ground. My hands groped until I found the object I had tripped over. I ran my hands over it, making it out to be a Shepard's staff made of gnarled wood. I stood slowly, gripping the staff, but as I moved, it bumped the ground and suddenly I could see. Well, I could sense what was around me, not colors, but hey, take what you can get. At least it wasn't all just black anymore. I tapped the staff against the ground again and this time I sensed swirling patterns spreading from where I had touched the ground and realized the patterns were intricate frost designs. Well that explains the name. Original? I think not. I started skating around the lake, laughing as my confidence grew, a cockiness filling me that I realized I'm naturally much more accustomed to then the fear. Suddenly, I froze. There was someone watching me.
"Hello? Is someone out there?", I called, tapping my staff to get my bearings again.
"Yes, Hello. My name is Blossom.", a soft, feminine voice said from the edge of the trees. "I sensed the frost and didn't understand because I only just brought spring here."
"Oh.", I said eloquently. "Sorry. I didn't know. I'm kinda... new? My name is Jack Frost.", I said flashing what I hoped was a charming smile in the direction of her voice
"Oh...um...well... don't worry about it of course. Its... no problem whatsoever!", she said sounding nervous. I walked toward her voice stopping just in front of her. I couldn't see her for real but a rare sort of beauty radiated from her.
"You know since I'm new, I'll need someone to show me the ropes...any chance you would?", I asked feeling unnaturally nervous as I waited for her reply.
"Well that might be hard considering I'm a spring sprite and you're a winter." she said, her answer both slightly teasing and surprisingly flirty at the same time.
"Somehow I think we can make it work." I said, a full blown, and I'm sure goofy, smile sliding into place on my lips.
"Yeah." she said softly and I felt her fingers brush hesitantly against me cheek. "Maybe we can."
